MOT and smashed driver light

I have an MOT tomorrow and was wondering if a smashed driver light will fail? Its an S2 Exige and was wondering how hard it would be to replace or just rip out? Can you get behind the grill?

Not sure if it`ll fail because of it, but on my 04 exige you couldnt get behind the grill without removing the clam.

My bros clioV6 passed an MOT with that frosted sellotape stuff over the lights as they were both cracked, so maybe if you cover them up with that it`ll be OK.

The manual for my Elise reckons changing the drivers light bulb is a main dealer job, ie clam off.

I'd mask them both off if I were you (actually if I were you I'd just cross my fingers and hope for the best, then having wasted money on an MOT that I knew I was going to fail pay someone several hundred pounds to have my light fixed evn though we both know the only think they tend to illuminate is either the white line 7 inches in front of the car or the occasional low flying owl but I'm not good with money.)

Get some perspex, cut it to size and glue it on.. Or get two bits, velcro them on after painting the same colour as your car.

Any ideas what MMC would charge for a clam off and replacement drivers light?

Atleast 5 hours labour!

If i were you id buy the light covers from eliseparts and wait until you really need it off! Cheers Ed

Driveing light not working is not an mot fale but sharp edges
whitch are likely to cause injury are .

I take it by drivers light you are talking about the 2 spot lights in the lower part of the clam - certainly not a clam off job if you are - took an entire 10 minutes in the 111r

You can only change the lights by removing the clam!!! Genius.
