High "I got married"!!! Low: Hrow gas leak fecked

Wedding was perfect, lots of things to time for it all to go as planned and it went a dream. Could not have hoped for a better day.

Unfortunately I a sitting in the Jury Inn hotel at Heathrow. Arrived two days ago. Arrived from France 24 hours before the flight to Mauritius. 11am the fir alarm trips, did not take anything as though it was a test. Nope gas main ruptured by work men. Evac to the car park that was filling with gas for 2 hours. Transco onsite and we get evac half a mile away for 4 hours. Then moved to Hilton meeting room on other side of hrow. Flight is at 9pm and gate shuts at 8.15. 7pm Hotel Manager gets access from the rozzers to his hotel he rushes and get our luggage while I persuade a taxi driver to take us to T3 while the luggage heads there. S on the phone to the gate in tears begging him to keep it open. Alas 15 mins too late. Back to the Jurys hotel via the stinky tube and battling with all concerned to a. get there b. get the full 10 days not 7 c. not pay for any of it.

Learnings:
1. Never leave your passport and credit cards behind, ever
2. Amex retail insurance were gash, "I am standing here in a foreign country in my pants with nothing what can you do for me?" "Not much sir".
