Not for long though, it dried up soon after the start so off it came.
Had a great two hours, car was going beautifully both on the straights and corners. I thought that the six year old Bridgestones on the rear would be a drawback, but that was the fastest I have ever gone in the wet, and then in the dry they were lasting well for lap after lap, and were then fun when they went off.
There was a bit of a shortage of fast cars in numbers, but the Murciélago, Ultima GTR, and a 285hhp, lightweight, racing Morgan made up for that.
Had a great lapping session with the Lambo, first time that I have seen one driven flat out and not just posing, and he stayed out as long as I did. Identical acceleration and speed on the straights, but I had the edge lower down, and passed him at the hairpin exit. We were out together in both the wet and the dry, though he probably has some trick engineeering as I thought that he would be slower in the wet. Do they have four wheel drive?
Also lapped with the Ultima, same lapping speed, but he was pulling away on the straights and sounded fantastic. Ferrari 550 was out of it, but a pity that I only met up with the Morgan in the last five minutes, as we had five really good laps together, and as we could hardly be black flagged, and there was not much traffic, we used the free overtaking rules.
So that is the last three track sessions that I have spent most of the time on the track, and that I have driven home from.
Which obviously means trouble is just around the corner, just wish I knew where from.
