Can you not upgrade your RAC cover?
Edit;
Is it going to MMC or Ali at SLS? As Ali picked up Scotts car in Dundee last night (HGF), he 'must' have some sort of transport, so if it's going to him, he might be able to collect it.

Green Subaru Impreza Turbo, a 'classic'.
Silver Jeep Cherokee 2.5 TD, on SORN spec...
Black Disco 3, black van man spec...

i can upgrade the cover (which i will do) but i then need to to get car lifted privately and pay them as well! (i cant use the cover for like 2 weeks or something) I m getting ali from sls to fix it.... ali did offer but i thought i was covered... might need to see if he can arrange it if i dont get any luck...
i m getting nothing but bad luck with cars these days!

Sorry mate - mine's linked to the car - AA parts and Labour.
I guess hiring a car and trailer isn't an option given your age -unless you've got a licence to tow?

I think Ali has something, but might be too late to organise - call him and see what he suggests.

i m p*****d off at rac because i had asked them to upgrade my policy to full coverage but only changed to local coverage!

towing a car on a trailer wont damage it.
Speak to the RAC again then and explain the situation to them, if you thought you had cover, and they were meant to provide it.
What does Ali say?

I meant towing a trailer with the car on the trailer

Even towing with a rope (which I wouldn't recommend with an elise) won't damage an engine - the rotation of the wheels will stop at the clutch so the engine will be quite stationery.
Good thing about the elise is that it doesn't have power steering or servo'ed brakes (well proper elises don't

) so it will behave the same towed as it does powered.
If only it wasn't for such a crap towing eye.

I would put the rope round the towing post if you can...

do not tow by that eye over any distance. By coinscidence, I was looking at mine this morning, its just a bolt with a loop of metal welded on. Mine is severely crooked (the towing eye...) after a short trip up the road being towed by Robins Wuenderbus

Agree. Mine went oval when dragged out of the gravel at KH, I guess many will be the same.
I doubt you`ll get someone willing to give up a day to escort your car to Edinburgh on their breakdown poilicy though!

You can get proper eye bolts, I also salvaged an 8mm rose jount and an 8mm shackle much stronger, probably stronget than the towing post!
