And I did. I stopped, asked her what her problem was, she went red and kept walking.

I think our OAP neighbours drive faster than we do, in our "twenty is plenty" zone (frankly if you can get much above 15 mph you are doing well, waste of time and money painting all the signs on the roads etc).

However two of the local crumblies are definitely frustrated racing drivers, one barrels down the cul de sac and uses his chipped driveway like a gravel trap

and the other boots it away from his house, having reversed out, like he's on an F1 start grid. Granted, he does have a Honda right enough.

Gotta love em.

I remember noise testing Uldis Exige in a quiet street by my house (Ashley Road) at 10pm on a school night...

It was only 112db...

...at idle.

i live next to a bunch of wrinklies and they couldn't be better neighbours.......... every car i've had has been quite loud, Impreza STi, 300ZX twin turbo, and now the VX, but they're great neighbours, i even took one women (guess at about 60yrs old) a run in the VX when i first got it, she used to drive the cars off the production line for Vauxhall but had never seen a VX..............she loved it, think i'm in all of their good books

such a good feeling getting on with your neighbours!

one old man woke me up one morning at about 2am, said he had banged his window at someone looking about my car, went out to check it, it looked fine apart from a big handprint on my just washed (earlier that night) car.

sucks dude.

I remember when I was a lad of 18 and I got the police around at my house because I had taken a short cut between two bollards in my old mini and some old biddy had reported me.

I thought thats what mini's were for? Normal rules of the road never used to apply IIRC

I was lucky not to get reported a couple of years ago in my last mini when taking a shortcut. I don't know wether the old woman trying to cross was more shocked or disgusted when her intended path over the pedestrian bridge was blocked by a mini

I love winding my neighbours up now... if they come up behind me, I drive exceptionally slowly, stopping at each speed hump

... well they did ask me to slow down

Also enjoy the fact the golf is a bit louder than most cars, so I find 1st gear is best for maximum effect. I'm always happy for SE meets to use the car park at my flat as a meeting point

... shame I'm only here for 1 more week.

my girlf stays down the road in Liberton and i know 3 people who stay at The Murrays.. Lots of speed bumps G did you cope okay??!

Next time you see a police car in your neighbourhood, take down the reggie then call the cops saying either:

(a) I've seen a suspicious car cruising and taking an unhealthy interest in some young boys and girls playing on the pavement ....
(b) I've seen a car speeding down the road while the driver was talking on his/her mobile telephone ....

ASBO my arse.

But if you are finding that the amount of such unwelcome attention has increased since fitting the howitzer exhaust, you might wonder whether it was such a good idea ...

I'm very lucky my neighbours are nice - i think they just hate me in silence...esepcially since i started my having a different Lotus in the drive each night spell...which has passed without complaint!

They didn't even grumble when Robin started the RLC for the first time - that was LOUD
