Elise daily driver ?

Post by bigdek » Sun Sep 09, 2007 2:19 pm

Do many peeps use these as a daily as most of the cars seem to be low mileage ?

I use mine as a daily drive between crashes and breakdowns, its ok shopping in interesting, but I like to think it cuts down on spending as you can't fit it all in :D

Used an Elise 111R (Touring Pack) as daily driver for a year. No probs at all with weather or daily driving (but never did try driving in snow!). Will now be using Exige (Sports Pack) as daily driver instead.

It's a myth that you can't use these as daily drivers. I can't comment on S1s as I've never had one, but no problem at all using an S2 as a daily driver!

I use mine as a daily drive 2002 S2 - now done 50k miles - mostly trouble free!

I did try it in the snow - and wouldn't recommend it!

Mine is a daily driver and probably one of the higher mileage cars on here at 55000. No probs but it does make you realise how PI@H the roads are in Edinburgh. Stereo turned up helps.

Daily driver in S1 and S2.

Novelty wears off in rain and he rattles and general lack of reliablity eventually pi555 you off more and more.

It took 7 years to wear off though.

daily driver for me too. I would say it more comfortable than my old seat and the suspension is less harsh too.

I do about 500 miles a week. have done 4.5k since I got it early july.

Gonna put it away for a couple of months in winter to keep the miles down tho

Daily for 3 years in an S1 with no real problems, more reliable than my second car although I'm beginning to think of relegating it to second car status or buying a newer one.

Not a problem with the Elise as such, just have it in mind that no 10 year old car is ideal as a daily driver.

If buying as a daily get as new an S2 as you can.

Best of luck.

Use my S1 daily with no problems - good when the Mrs asks you to go to shops on the way home...."Sorry dear there's no room, you'd be better going in the family car"
