My re-fuel just before the accident was in New Galloway, so probably not.

Maybe this is why Ken doesn't bother re-fueling?!

Not that it helps, but assuming the skid marks on the road are yours (they look like S2 front tyres :-)) then you probably came off the brakes too much after first lock up - i.e.:

Oh sh*t, car stopped in road - slam on brakes; lock fronts
Oh sh*t, not slowing down, strange burning smell - jump off brakes to unlock fronts - weight transfers to the back of the car, fronts go light.
Oh sh*t, must slow down - jump on brakes, less pressure than last time, but more pressure that they will take right now; lock fronts again.

Give up and take to the scenery.

BTW, good skills on taking to the scenery - at least there was a chance you could have gotten away with that - hitting either of the cars was always going to result in more damage I think.

Cheers,
Robin

I think I managed to keep the brakes on the whole time bar the end when I had to steer . As the car slowed down I never reduced the pressure on the pedal . At least I know what happened , its not like I crashed and wondered why which dents convidence.

Neck fine today though my head hurts from the beer

Just discivered I have a voluntary excess of £250 which takes excess to £500 doh! At least its the end of the summer.

The guy that fixed CSK`s (now gareths dads) clam was only £250for a similar looking sort of bump. Not sure how tidy it was but looked OK on the outside. Might be worth DIY`ing it over winter as it will be cheaper (and affect your insurance less)?
