Was checking out Pistonheads... 2nd hand prices from private sellers seem to be steep for VXT's. I mean, taken in isolation then yes... £16-17K for a 4yr old VXT seems like a lot of car for the money. But many have been 'customised' in some way (usually to remove badging and paint bits black)
But then, you go on to NetworkQ, and see that there are 2x 1yr old VXT's (one with only 600 miles)... £19995 before haggling. I bet you could get that for £18*** with a bit of persuading. That car has barely turned a wheel and will still have warranty. When I was buying the Liz last December, I found a VXT less than a year old on NetworkQ for £18995.
Just don't understand the VXT 2nd hand prices at all...

17K for a 4 yr old VXT is very optimistic at the moment IMO, so I think some private sellers are just being unrealistic.
There are some up on the vx220.org site at considerably less e.g. 14K for a stage 2:

Less than 14K for a standard 04 plate
:

a v. nice looking 03 VXT for under 14K
http://www.vx220.org.uk/forums/index.ph ... opic=57162
(You're not allowed to comment on the prices over there though - the mods get cross if you do
)
VXRs seem to be holding up a bit better - possibly because there are fewer of them.

Personally I'd rather let anyone comment (as long as it doesn't cause the site owner any legal problems). Free speech on this sort of thing works IMO - it's usually pretty obvious who's making a good effort to sell their car, and who's just being a plonker and making stupid comments about valuation. The VX community is also very good at rooting out things like dodgy VXRscaleebra wrote: Which is fair enough IMOWho wants to hear that they just sold their car too cheaply, or who wants potential buyers put off by comments that it's too expensive?!?

Are you sure? In some cases, yes I agree. But it depends what you are going to do with the car. If you're not going to sell it then it doesn't matter. If you're going to chop it for another VX then actually you probably want the lowest possible residuals (because you'll save more on the car you buy than you lose on the car you sell). If you're going to chop it for an Elise then you should be shotcaleebra wrote: I'm all for strong VX residuals bring it on!!![]()
