Familiar Passes/Cols to a few of us..............

Would have loved to have been with them to compare how they are driven in an Elise.

The Top Gear web site on Mondays is going to be showing 'uncut' parts of the show. According to the site - the News section is much longer when recorded (classic BBC 'live show', erm yea well it was, when it was originaly recorded).

Well done Del.

Yeah, Lisa and I were reminiscing for sure :-(

We were thinking, can you imagine if Tony Churly was taking us all to Stelvio again this year and hooked us up with the TG crew to see how "true light weight" cars actually handle the Pass to end all Passes :-)

Happy days.

Maybe we'll have an SE pilgrimmage there some year.

Campbell

PS - scary thing about that pic is I reckon only me and Richard look any different today!!

PPS - Del, wanna tell everyone how Richard got "lost" and Robin nearly missed his dinner as a result ;-)

I dont have pics of Richard handy at the moment... but its suffice to say.. he has size 11 feet and is bigger than me and that he was 16 just 6 months ago.

Here's another photo wiv Tony C and a random ( ) from Lotus!

Hopefully the link above will explain how this mishap happened. However, I woke up absolutely fecking awful, drove 10 miles or so to the petrol station and confessed I was unable to drive at any speed... so a quick change of passengers saw me falling asleep in my car, while Richard had to go in another. En-route we come across a sweeping road with multiple turn offs, we all go down one... except Richard and his driver (sorry, forgot the name).. anyway, no worries I think they will meet us at the top of Stelvio. I was unable to drive up and wasn't enjoying it too much anyway. At the top, I still wasn't enjoying it as we were almost the last to arrive and there still was no sign of Richard and driver. Robin kindly stayed behind with us till the last minute and we could wait no longer as a cable car was waiting at our destination to take us to our hotel. It was the last one of the day! We sped down the pass to our destination and I had forgotten about how ill I was and started to feel ill about losing a son with a complete stranger.. Fortunately, they were waiting for us at the cable car and had been there for a few hours. We just made it with minutes to spare (and I mean minutes of the single variety - otherwise we were stranded with no accomodation!) and a bit of hugging later we were on our way up. I managed to recover that evening and enjoyed a bit of banter as per pic. Richard was none the wiser about my worry and he never did get to go up the pass!

Mucho respect to Robin for guiding us down to the cable car in time!

However.... we have gone off topic... stroll on Top Gear!
