Alloy Wheel Refurbishment

Post by offshorematt » Mon Nov 05, 2007 5:28 pm

Work mate just had a meeting with a kerb thanks to a badly driven bus.
Can anyone recommend an alloy wheel refurbisher in the aberdeen area?

Cheers

Sure can. Keith at PPS in Inverurie. He has just done eight S1 wheels for me. They were very bad condition though not damaged, so worth giving a ring on 01467 621907 and speaking to his mum Lesley.

The full job is around £45.

 Good job!

What does PPS do - i've never heard of them before. I take it £45 is each wheel?

Anyway, I've passed on the number so we'll see if he can repair damage too.

thanks Tut

PPS deal with: powder coating, glassfibre and carbonfibre.

Keith is something of a petrolhead (I must also make it clear that he's one of my best mates) and if they can help then they will.

Keith's well known by a number of SE-ers (Scotty, Shoomer etc) so you can be sure PPS is reputable etc

I think Tut's photos highlight the quality of their work better than words can....

Matt, PPS powdercoated my S1 Elise wheels.
Not sure about damage repair.
I've heard chipsaway can build up kerbing and repaint

Alternatively Coatech in Carnoustie - Euan did a great job (including kerbing) of my RS6 wheels prior to me selling it

Don't think he got a chance to phone today but I've let him see the pictures. You're right - they highlight the quality pretty well :D

Where's Chipsaway, Gareth?

Coatech in Carnoustie is probably a bit too far south though - he lives in Cruden Bay so north would be better. Never say never though

Thanks for the help

Votes for Coatech from here as well. Been there twice now, good results. Though don't tempt them to rush the work, this is when they make mistakes I have found.

Agreed, but that's when I have the opportunity to rip the pish outta Mr Smith
