Looks like you guys have had fun.......J33ama.......If you want some advice PM me.

The guys on here mean well and the advice has been reasonable.........we have all made mistakes (I make them every day!), they are just trying to stop you making some/one......as they tend to be expensive/painful!

And everyone relax.....

Sounds like your car is marked (hence why it's been pulled 4 times previously), and secondly that you've probably done something to provoke this.

The copper appears to be winding you up. My advice is simple: produce your documents like a good boy and don't speed up and down town centers. Your car is handsome enough to get noticed doing normal speeds. Hammering up a street in 1st makes you look like a fudd, not a stud. :D

J33AMA - Don't think for one minute that ur the only one that punts the sh!t out ur car from time to time... I'm sure everyone has done it, in a place or at a time that they don't want to admit

Just watch where you do it next time and keep out the police' way....

Guys on here do take the "advice" a bit OTT sometimes but I'm sure its with the best intention.....

Long as you don't get any points etc who cares mate 8)

I have not met you, but from your first post on here you sounded like an accident that was about to happen.

And you have continued in the same vein. As the "eldest of the elders" on here as you so succintly put it, we are not trying to get on your back, we just do not want you to kill yourself or somebody else, in our favourite car.

Just drive it sensibly on the restricted roads, quickly on the empty back roads where it is at its best, which is what most of us do.

But if you really want to drive it as it should be driven, then get it on the track and see what the Elise is all about.

Just remember we are the good guys... :!:

But we are all tarred with the brush when "one of those silly plastic cars" ends up raising the attention of the police or public by making ourselve visable in town, intentional or otherwise.

Those of you who have been behind me on road runs will know that its a nominal 20mph limit for me when in town. Its to much of a risk that some old biddy phones the police and we end up meating a "road block" further up the road. The same should apply when out and about on your own. Keep it low key in town and rag the royal sh*t out of it when there is nobody around to moan about it.
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

J33ama,

Tut and John have done some good summing up there - and you've actually got a reasonable cross section of our community on this thread.

No-one here is harrassing you by any means - we want you to enjoy your car the way it was intended, as much as we all enjoy ours, and in our own sweet ways :-)

Could well just be the tone and timing of some of your posts which are giving an inaccurate impression of you as a driver, and that is a common risk with these kinds of forums (fora, I think that is actually, but always seems weird writing that!).

So don't take any of our banter or opinion personally, and just try to enjoy this wee community which may yet come into its own for you.

cheers

An interesting postscript to all this. Yesterday I happened to be working with Edinburgh Council which uses software provided by my company to analyse road accident statistics collected by the police, and we were discussing accident rates among young drivers. Males in the 17 to 21 age group are 7 times more likely to be involved in a fatal or serious road accident than the average, and it is still double the average for the 21 to 25 age group. Although the police do not record the vehicle model involved in an accident, figures from the insurance companies suggest that the accident rates are dramatically higher still for young males in high performance or modified cars.

So, I don't think the police are out to persecute young drivers - they are just doing their job in trying to reduce the unnecessary carnage. If you are young, own a fast car, and drive in a way which draws attention to yourself it is not too surprising that the police take an interest in you.
