How did this post get away without a back hander then?!????????????

U all loved the speed then.....

That post doesnt mention where it was done, could have been a track for all you know.

and throughout this thread no one has denied spirited driving however there is a time and place, usually the town High Street is not one of those places.

Maybe if he had posted "hey guys i was stopped last night as i was redlining 6th gear, the fascist pig basturt had it in for me cos I am young, its just sooooo unfair" he might have got some pelters for it. and that comment is tongue firmly in cheek.

Casting up old threads isnt really proving a point though, never have we claimed to be squeaky clean.

I was going to try and answer the main question you asked in the post but was wanting time to think about it.

I did have a problem with the Police when I discovered that a Police officer had filed a totally false report about a firearms incident (mechanic found air rifle in my boot which I was transporting to Livingston the following day) about me. Only came to light 10 years later when I had a disclosure done for working with kids. I had no idea the info was there and its disclosure resulted in me been banned from my kid's school.

I asked 3 different lawyers what I should do as I wanted to confront the Police Force concerned . Every single lawyer said I would end up getting unwanted attention from the Police  Some bloody country where Police can get away with stuff like that. It took me a year to sort stuff out and felt really depressed.

So maybe a visit to the local Police station isnt the best idea.

I actually did get it sorted by taking a softly softly approach to Disclosure Scotland, 2 Police Forces and my MSP.

Best just keeping out of their way way and not attracting attention. I know they are not all bad but even one can do a lot of damage behind the scenes and its hard to prove them guilty.

Right place.... Right time..... No problem.....

There's a big difference between deserted motorways and built up areas & if you ever come on an SE run, you'll note that we religiously slow down for the 30 signs

Sounds like you and me should definately NOT hook up any time soon in our cars :D Like me, sounds like you love to show off your car, and the busier the place the better. I loving nothing more than to scream from zero to forty at a set of lights on Glasgow road (edi) as fast as possible. Maybury Road (edi) is fantastic too, but I have come to realise, too many people are watching and too many people can be unpredictable making our drving styles potentially deadly. Im not preaching, and if I am, its to myself too! Just reading this has made me realise that these cars CAN and often DO result in a complete change in attitude within a person. I get in the car and feel like superman, I feel better than everyone else, and I feel that if I can, I should push the car to what I perceive to be its limits, and make sure everyone around knows it!

I dont want slaughtered for posting how much of a twat I can be in the car. My excuse is I have only been driving for 6 months and as such, I have the whole "new kid with a car" as well as the "lotus factor" to contend with. My driving over the last month or two has improved dramatically, I am much more aware of my surroundings and the people who I can affect with my sometimes insane driving. I feel like I am learning at a seriously fast pace, and my respect for other road users whilst still on the short side, is growing.

For the record, I have been pulled 9 times in the Elise, and 3 in one night (said night ended in the grassmarket incident). That was 3 months ago, and I haven't been pulled since - proves I am getting better.
You c0Ck!
Mr Perfect, have you EVER been in your car and done something silly / dangerous?
I never said I was perfect behind the wheel -far from it! But to the same extent I'd never brag about it! And being "new kid with a car" is never an excuse for being a c0ck behind the wheel - which if reading between the lines - is what you're pretty much admitting to!
