Nintendo DS - a question for the parents out there! (NLC)

We bought her it when the Lite came out at first, which coincided with her birthday last year I think, so roughly a year past September? Would that be about right?

Wife bought it but I'm sure she got it from GAME in Dundee

Well I would personally buy a new one, especcially if it's an old style DS. My son's top screen is wrecked, and I got him a replacement.

It's a DS Lite, so the newer type.

I feared this - not being worth paying someone to repair it, plus I'd thought about taking apart & looking for any dry solders/loose connections etc.

The screws seem funny, any tips on how to undo them?

The top screen - you can vaguely still see things, but it's very hazy due to vertical lines - bear in mind it's been dropped on more than one occasion much to my annoyance

And it looks like you need a "tri-point screwdriver" (whatever that is) which they'll handily sell you for £3.50. At that it's got to be worth attempting a repair

tri-point screwdriver is a screwdriver with 3 points

, std security bit similar to a torx bit but with a triangle shape in it. kinda obvious really

I have just looked through my eight year old's carry case of DS games

12 games in total

Best game is Animal Crossing followed by the aforementioned nintendogs/cats/ponies

Super Mario
Sims 2
Tamagotchi corner shop 2....... also get the nod

Gail also states that the Brain Training for adults is very good

I quite fancy one myself for sitting in Dublin Airport when the EDI Aer Lingus is delayed (every fecking week these days)

... however, after watching a grown man in a pin-stripe suit play a racing game last week on a PSP with his tongue sticking out and leaning round the corners, i'd just look fcuking stooopid!
