Perhap all of us could apply this before acting/posting.
Corinthians 13:11

Have any of us done away with childish things ? My Elise was the biggest toy I ever owned.

As I mentioned in earlier in this thread, I don't do Religion
I spend all day at work thinking about spending quality time with any of the following:

- Wife
- Wii
- Xbox
- Lotus
- Mates

And so on....

Anyway here it goes , gave the car a little burst on the main st , prob up to maybe 35tuts at most , in first gear so yes it was loud. Cop few cars behind me pulls me over . He is in a ordinary cop car (no camera) and is by himself (no partner). He asks how many points I have to which i reply "3", he says well this will make you lose your licence for dangerous driving. He takes me in back of car and takes my details name address etc. He tells me he doesnt need my documents as they have copies in the office (already been pulled 4 times for nowt). So thats that , he doesnt read me my rights , issue horte or anything just says "you will be up at court for that " and lets me go . Before I leave I questioned the fact that he is by himself and has apparently just done me with no evidence at all . He replys well its my word against someone's with 3 points on his licence.

anyone know were I stand with this ? Can he really charge me ?

okay so i had a little burst of speed but its arguable wither or not i broke the speed limit , I am sure everyone on this board enjoys the same occasional blat , thats why we drive the cars we do !
I couldn't be arsed reading the 19 pages so I'll mention my experience of a similar situation.

Picture this....206 marked police van, no blue light and has forensic investigator or words to that effect on the side, sitting in the middle lane of the M58 around 65/70mph, I'm in the fast lane sitting behind a number of other cars who are hesitating to pass due to the police fear. Speed around 70 to 75.

As I pass I glance at the driver and he's a man wearing a suit or as my work colleague said "a geek".

The cars who were in front have now moved to the middle lane infront of the 206, I continue in the fast lane pass these drivers who are now sitting around 70, me approx pushing 80 and move into the middle lane continue for a few miles until my cut off, I've noticed that in the few miles covered the 206 is sitting directly behind me with every lane change and yes I was still sitting just under the 80mph mark.

I take my cut off and head into Liverpool, the 206 follows suit pulls up next to me at the next set of lights and asks me to pull in further up (and I kid you not the lad sitting on the other side of him (3 lane road) was on the fckn phone !)

I pull in further up get out , he goes on to tell me he's DCI.... cautioned me ! took all my details asked around 5 times if I had points (which I don't) and stated that he felt my speed was excessive, I knew that was just his opinion and had no hard facts but neverthless I wasn't cheeky and in turn he wasn't arrogant (with his scouse accent all I could hear was the Barry characters out of Harry Enfield shouting "calm down calm down")

After a 5 min chat by the side of the road I went on my way and he went on his. What I took from this was the Police have the power to pull you whatever the case, as I didn't sit at the exact same speed as the other sheep sorry road users I was drawing attention to myself.

I've been there done that and got the t-shirt with being pulled in my younger days, I did drive a Saxo VTR and VTS right enough !

You live and learn I would ignore what this copper said to yourself from the fact of worrying but would take on board the reason he stopped you..... drawing attention to yourself.

Am I correct in saying the police have no right to obtain this info, or put another way, you are not legally obliged to supply it? :?

Can't honestly remember - but I'm sure they have only the powers to see your photo part of the licence,, not the counterpart, which obviously has all the scary stuff on it...
