Victoria and I will be at the show again, so will join you for the night at the Travelsplodge and curry again. May do the trackday too. I'll decide nearer the time.

I'll leave it to someone else to say wether you are a beginner or not. Other option is to get a couple of KH sessions in over the winter
Ken won the Driver of the Day award at the AMP3 trackday for his excellent track etiquette. I'd be happy personally vouching for his manners - if that counts for anything. Think he'll be perfectly inside his comfort zone.

Just thinking about accommodation but I have realised I have no idea what time the track day starts and ends at. Any ideas?

I will definitely book a room for the Friday night but not too sure whether to drive straight home after the TD.

Is there usually enough time on the Saturday to see the show as well? Also wouldn't mind a look through the museum.

Chances are after a few hours on track I'll not can be bothered doing very much.

Room booked at Nottingham West. Twin room so if anyone wants to share let me know. After 8pm check in as well.

Looking forward to Donington (Plus a curry & beer :D ), only had the Lotus on track at KH. How will it compare?

I would say this is very much a two day event. What we did last year was perfect. travel on the Friday, track day and meal in town on Saturday, Sunday morning back to see the show, spot of lunch and then offski back home.

Its not a museum as such... just plenty of exhibitors and trade stands. take cash... loads of it... there is always plenty stuff you will want to buy.
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

V. different - much faster, wider, longer - but after a go with an instructor to sort out the lines, particulary at Craners, it's then great fun :)

I dont think they have posted the times yet. It was an all day open pit last year. Started quite early as well.

I wouldnt say its hugely different, if you imagine KH from Duffus to the chicane but as Brian says, wider, faster and longer then you will get the idea.
I thought it was easy enough to learn the basic lines although I really struggled at craners always turning in too early. Really good fun track with plenty of run off on most corners.

taking craners flat is a buzz (car will be on the limit, slightly off camber, wrong line and you'll be the dancing queen!), the old hairpin is where i spun in the race (and went sideways through it every time as the tyres went off v. quickly), and 2 corners after that is where McKean binned it (McLeans). Your cornering pace through the old hairpin is crucial as the next bit is uphill through Starkeys and in to Schwantz, so if you are off the pace through the old hairpin, you loose a good bit of time on the climb unless your car has a talent masker (sorry Supercharger!).

Coppice has a blind apex, and it almost a double apex, then running down on the the GP bit which i haven't done, but is basically a big loop.

2.5 miles of joy - you'll love it - thats why i'm heading back
