NLC - Friendly Porsche MOT garage in glasgow
A work college is looking for a friendly garage to get his clapped out Porsche 944 MOT'd in Glasgow. He is Greek and has no clue where to go.
Any suggestions?

Have looked after my old mans Z3M for the last couple of years, and are most good at ze germans.kenny wrote:He went there last time, he seemed to think they were a bit pricey.shooomer wrote:Google: George Morrison Motors, 130 Farmeloan Road, Rutherglen, Glasgow Tel: 0141 643 1768
Don't know anything about them though
Supposedly Cairnlea Garage (Google again) in Ibrox are Porsche service specialists and the owner is Dom's mate. Hambo works there, so can't be bad
My Merc had been serviced there for years before I got it and it was the nicest, tightest and best-driving 15 year old car I'd ever driven when I bought it.

They are, but they are very good with Porsches/Mercs etc. Peter at Motortune in Shotts is probably your best bet for someone who knows the 944 inside out and doesn't charge a fortune.kenny wrote:He went there last time, he seemed to think they were a bit pricey.shooomer wrote:Google: George Morrison Motors, 130 Farmeloan Road, Rutherglen, Glasgow Tel: 0141 643 1768

Cheers,

Re:
I had George Morrison do a rebuild on my 79 911SC engine - excellent job. George is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful and was recommended to me by Brian Miller, the Edinburgh Porsche specialist.kenny wrote:He went there last time, he seemed to think they were a bit pricey.shooomer wrote:Google: George Morrison Motors, 130 Farmeloan Road, Rutherglen, Glasgow Tel: 0141 643 1768

Another school of thought.....if he took the car to someone who doesn't have an intimate knowledge of 944's then maybe it will have a better chance of passing. Expert eyes are maybe only going to pick up more faults ?
If it did fail I'd be straight along to Motortune for the repairs though
