J33ama, I'm completely with J2lot, DDtB and Gareth on this one. You are knowingly breaking the law. You got caught. You got fined. Deal with it.

If you don't want to deal with the consequences, don't break the law. Simple as that. Anyone who speeds knows they are at risk of a speeding fine. If they get one, they accept it and get on with things. The many people on here who have no front plate or a small front plate know that they run the risk of being stopped and fined, but they do it because it's important to them and I'm sure they'll accept the fine if they do get caught.

If you decide to break the law, then you have to deal with the risk of being caught, regardless of any personal vendetta a cop may have against you.

Also, if you don't want people's opinions, which may differ from your own (just like Gareth's has), then don't post up on a public forum then complain and start a slagging match just because Gareth quite rightly points out that the you had an illegal plate.

It's a bummer but as said above technically you're wrong and they're right, so don't see what complaining will do apart from piss off more of em.
If it continues long-term that's different so keeping a note is maybe worthwhile....

(Comes with the territory- orange exiges aren't exactly 'stealth' travel......just lie low for an easy life IMHO  )

JMA, no offence intended, but you do manage to wind up those of a sensitive temperament with admirable ease :D

Sucks that you got fined, but if you play them at their own game for a bit & have a legal car, they risk a harrasment case if they keep on pulling you for no reason.

I'd honestly say to just pay the fine, or else they will issue a warrant for your arrest  This will only make mr plod (who's obviously got it in for you) much happier....

Be good for a bit & play only when they're not looking

Agree with what the others are saying you have a tiny plate you got done end of story.

Or to put it another way you knew you are a marked man and have continued to give PC bullied at school an excuse to pull you over. Well done give yourself a slap for being stupid.

Ditch the silly plates as they only scream attention whore.

If i was in your shoes i would sell the private plate and stick ordinary plates on the car. Then get it MOTed carry all you documents with you and the next time plod pulls you your are whiter then white and he is now looking at a genuine complaint. If you don't have your documents then it is technically an offence and PC bullied at school is perfectly within his powers to impound your car for having no insurance.

If you don't pay the fine then PC bullied at school will take great delight in arresting you at the most inconvenient point for you. If you want to screw over this plod then i am sorry you have to play him at his own game and be super squeaky clean, which is hard in an exige. Example tyres you run 48rs i guess which are of marginally legality out the mould so it only takes one dim witted plod to say they aren't road legal and YOU have to prove otherwise. In the landy circles i have hear of plod measuring the tread depth on mud tyres just to waste time and piss off the owners and a mud tyre normally has huge tread blocks.

Alot of police have joined the police as they just want to show off in a uniform Not all of them but alot.

P.S. not going to raise to caterhams = old mans car if you don't raise to the exige never on track comment

You could always move! I'm sure your car would be much more appreciated in somewhere like, say, Larkhall :D

Lets get one thing straight I am not disgruntelled about the fine its no big deal and I do agree Its an Illegal plate so fair do's . I offered the fud 30 quid on the spot. The reason I am so pissed off is the way I am being treated by this little scrotum and a few others in the department, he is young and prob bout same age as me , Its obvious he's a Jealous barsteward.

I pay tax and this annoys me . I am a hard working member of the public who has never been in any sort of trouble , yet this fcuk idiot wastes tax payers money and time stopping me for half an hour, when young girls are being raped , houses burgald and numerous assault take place in this area.

rant over , cant be arsed with another 19 pager

and I dont mean to wind anyone up , but few members on here do tend to critisise at any opportunity. I Looking for some friendly advice from time to time thats all !

Friendly advice......okay, you need to keep your nose clean.

Chance's are that he can't afford an elise and is jealous of the fact that you do. Unfortunatly for you he's in a position of power as it's his "duty" to enforce the laws of the country, and even more unfortunate is that he's getting a kick out of his power trip.

As far as I am aware, you can't claim victimisation when your actually breaking the law (even if it is a trivial one in the whole scheme of things)

So, it comes down to one thing - you need to be squeeky clean, keep cool, keep legal and if the situation continues log each and every time that you are pulled over, the circumstances and the numbers of BOTH officers.

Then you'll have some ammunition but it will need to be over a fairly long period as they will be able to counter with the fact that you are "known to them for road traffic violations"

Mac

PS: Some insurance companies offer free legal advice on the RTA - perhaps work a call to see where you stand?

again thanks for the advice m8 , guess I am off to halfords today then :(

Gonna create a little log book today , I did note that when I asked for there ID no. , they did try and avoid the question . One of the officers didnt say a word the whole time, It was almost as if he knew his collegue was just being an arse. The only time he spoke was when PC knob end went outside for a second, he asked my my name to which I replied "surly you must know it by now " , to which he replied in a rather nice manner " sorry m8 I havent stopped you before " and left it at that , didnt ask again .

you should have seen the smirk on PC arseholes face when he pulled me :x Get a life !

Someone posted above that you have to have your documents. That isn't correct (unless the law has changed in recent years), they can issue you with a producer and then you must produce your documents within 7 days. Amusingly, you don't need to produce the producer, so if you want a laugh, take the documents to the police station, but don't take the producer. Make sure you get a "receipt" for having produced them, and then wait for the entertainment. Do this each and every time they stop you.

Secondly, I think that there is a ticket that they can give you to prove that they stopped you, and I think that it's your right to ask for one - do some internet research to find out what it is (remember the Top Gear "race" through london where James May was driving the big car - the police pulled them to check the camera vehicle was legit - James asked for a blues&twos escort to make up for lost time - they declined but offered to give him a "Form XYZ" to prove he'd been stopped....).

Each and every time they stop you, make sure you get one of these - unlike your personal log, these are actually evidence (that's the point of them).

Finally, is it possible that this particular officer would prefer it if you drove a green car? If so you can play that for a lot if you can get him to incriminate himself. Carry one of those dictaphones in the car, and press record the moment they pull you over. Then start to wind him up and wait for him to say something stupid.

You can win, but you must play the system. If you walk in to see the "guv" with 10 of those stop forms, 10 completed producers and tape of him slagging you off because "your car is the wrong colour" then I would guess he'll get a kick up the ar$e and leave you alone.

Go on the offensive, I say ...

Robin

P.S. Avoid discussing the relative size of your income.

A combination of the two has kept my licence clean, and no Fines (even parking ones) to the Government, since the day I got it. (just under 12,000 days actually).

I had a concrete evidence of a Strathclyde Policeman perverting the course and spoke to a lawyer about taking him to court and off the record he advised well against it. I tried my own way of getting the problem resolved and it worked. You just have to keep information and present it in a very straightforward way without getting folk's back's up, in fact you have to get them onside

Pain in the backside when somebody in power abuses their position. I had a bad experience with somebody like this a few years ago (not Police) and it was hard going. Very hard to get anything done about it as many folk who could do something are worried it will harm their career if they are in the same organisation. Then sometimes the best action is just keep a low profile and hope they forget about you.

From experience I do find that what goes round, comes around, even if you have to wait a while for it to happen.
