7 doesn't wear a front one...could you imagine how big it would look?? :?

To be fair, going by the monthly 7s magazine..all 7 owners have beards....then there's Jason and RossyB from here who have them...and thinforth...well when he hits puberty. :P

I would be very surprised if that plate is illegal....you're allowed to cut plates down as long as they are the same gap from 1st and last digit from the edge of the plate IYKWIM

correct me if I am wrong, been thinking about this isn't the size of the plate irrelivent ? the only thing the law asks for is the font and spacing to be correct.

now can you get PC plod on a technicality ? your spacing is wrong but is that what he has put down on the fixed penalty

I dunno you will have to ask a very expensive lawyer, it may end up costing more that £30 though

Stick your private plate on a retainer and go back to the car's own for a while? That'll earn you a few seconds for a quick getaway.

I drove my elise with a small front plate and loud zorst for around 4yrs in renfrewshire without even the threat of a Police stop and the last 6 months of ownership I had no front plate ! (Gareth I don't supposed your old man has bothered putting one on it yet :D) also I was only 23 when I purchased the liz.

End of the day it's your donald duck, keep the nut down and keep the car legal, then if your still getting a tug every other week complain, but as it stands at the mo they have an excuse to pester you.

I have the correct size plate om my Elise, and i have never been stopped yet. Its a lot less hassle, than knocking your number plate off. I had the Police pestering me for months about my number plate A 10TVS, and ended up selling the number. Hey thanks Mr Police man, i made £3.500 on my number !!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

If they have nothing to stop you for then they won't and if they do they you have a reason for the harrasment. You are not helping yourself. Sort it out and stop your whinging.

I got 5 fines for reg plates this year on both my cars. I am now totally legal and have not been stopped since.

Nope.

I know its frustrating mate, but you'll have to take a deep breath and suck it up. You'll never win - all the guy is doing is taking great pleasure in doing his job. If you break the law (however small the offence), your complaint will never succeed either and all that'll happen is you have your card marked.

Arguably the Chinese acheived that themselves; it's only a few months since The Bejing in Killie was forced out of business..... for serving Seagull as chicken :puke
