Telegraph Pole & accident repair
Ken
If you are going to have an accident, even with an inanimate object, tis good to see that you made it suffer.
As everybody says, the main thing is that you walked away with only a couple of bruises, and Insurance will take care of the rest.
Plus you will end up with a nice new re-spray and an unchipped front clam.

ps Wanna buy a brand new Car Bra? Never been worn except for a photo session, just to show that it fitted perfectly. Really in need of some regular TLC.
pss looking at cutting some logs up for Winter. Did you keep the telegraph pole?

As for the stone chips yes it will be great to have a new splitter without deer hair sticking from it and no stone chips on the front however it will show up the rear wheel arches which are nearly white. Might also be the end of the stripes

I am insured with Direct Line, at first they were not to happy taking it all the way to Bathgate. However when I explained about the fact that a Lotus was glued together and therfore needed someone who understood that they agreed no problem. Steve is off until next Monday and I am to see him then to make sure he checks the crash structure, chassis and the rear of the car as they used the rear axle to pull it out of the ditch.tenkfeet wrote:That was quick Ken , who are you insured with ?
My car is due back on the 14th as they are closed for Christmas fortnight . There was a delay in getting a front clam.

Ken,
Sorry to read about this - can empathise to some extent after my own recent bump.
For what it's worth, Steve Walker will also be doing my own rear clam replacement - hopefully around mid January ( delivery from Lotus permitting ).
Felt, as it seems you did, that the high recommendations from members on here were too numerous to be ignored.
Hope you are physically recovered now.
Cheers,
Ally.

Are you sure that there was no damage to the paint work on the rear or sides of the car. Could you possibly have re-bounded off the pole and onto some barbed wire?
Seem to remember that is what happened to me a few years ago that necessitated a full re-spray, plus of course if you only had a front re-spray it still has to match the rest of the car.

Pulled it out by the axle does not sound like a good idea, deffo get the whole back end suspension checked out. I would suspect that they used the toe links or wishbones as they are easier to reach...
