Well at least they are the cheaper option
I would be more concerned if there is no visible damage form the tow out. At least if somehting is bent you know what they used, CV joints and driveshafts are expensive!

I discussed this with the recovery guy when I turned up. I had rear towing eyes (well only one was left intact!) when I crashed and they used them. Ken didn't have any and even if he did, there was no way to access them as the rear diffuser was right in against the grass in the ditch.
I think he put it round the wishbone. Not ideal, but was the only option and I said to ken to make sure he got it checked out afterwards. I just couldn't think of anything else that he could attach the rope to.

I have to say, if it's an insurance job, I'd be tempted to get it over to Steve Walker with all the experience he's got and all the good reports I've heard over the years.
It definately an insurance job, front splitter is away (needed new one anyway), front clam has telegraph pole hole in it and crash structure looked bent. I think listening to all the stories I will insist it goes to Steve Walker.
Thanks everyone for the kind words especially Tut

Life always has a way of putting things in perspective last year I sepnt Christmas in Austria skiing with friends, they went back again this Christmas however I decided to spend time with my parents. Just heard that Glenn had an accident and broke his neck and is paralysed and probably will never walk again.

Jeez i just heard a friend of a friend of mine had a bad ski-ing accident which has left him paralysed too. The Glenn you know wouldn't work at Manchester airport would he?
Very sad news.

Are you sure that there was no damage to the paint work on the rear or sides of the car. Could you possibly have re-bounded off the pole and onto some barbed wire?
Seem to remember that is what happened to me a few years ago that necessitated a full re-spray, plus of course if you only had a front re-spray it still has to match the rest of the car.

That is a very good point Tut I will have that checked out

I saw an S2 Elise crashed the other day which the insurance rendered a right off. Only amounted to about 7k worth of damage I reckon. Silly barsteward was on his way home from picking it up at the dealership when he stacked it! He reckons he wrote it off within under an hour of owning it.
