Looking to Buy - Based in East Lothian

Post by ceejam » Fri Jan 04, 2008 9:41 am

Hello folks, I'm currently looking for an S1 Elise, and been a lurker on the forum for a couple of months, only just got registered and logged in (Thanks Simon!)

I've always wanted and Elise since I first saw the S1 released. Now that dream can become a reality! Hoping to get to some of the track days for px laps this year, and hopefuly in my own Elise by the end of the year!

I've been into cars for years, Minis mainly, my dad runs http://www.McDonald-Minis.co.uk, and currently building up a GRP bodied Mini. I quite like "plastic cars", my Dad has a Mini Marcos, Ive got a GTM (in bits) and the GRP Mini, so an elise was a natural progression really ;)

Welcome ceejam!

Your dad did most of the work on my Mini when it was running!

hello & welcome

what fibreglass mini is that.....my brother in law built one called an FRA that looks similar to yours.

the kit he bought wasn't all that developed & he had a lot of fettling to do.
looked good once it was finished though.

I knew I'd seen your user name before, seeing it on the other thread. You post a fair bit on minfinity? I used to be on there a fair bit when I had my Italian Job.

Always had a soft spot for GTM's, good to see one being saved for a change :thumbsup

Hi Baggy, mine is an FRA shell, 2nd or 3rd last one to be produced before the moulds were sold on. I don't know if the new owner has made any!

I've had the shell 3 years, and taken a lot of fettling to get to where it is! Simple things like fitting the pedal box took something like 3 hours of; measuring, cutting, welding, trial fitting, repeat ad nauseum!!

Really should get on and build the Mini before buying a Lettuce and Cheese, but that would be boring and sensible, wouldn't it?
