ipod soluitons for Exige

Post by dave h s » Mon Jan 14, 2008 2:56 pm

Hi - has anyone got any experiences of plumming in nano ipod's to car stereo's? I am thinking of either going with a transmitter type solution although I have heard some very varied reports as to how effective they are and my current radio reception is AWFUL...not sure if this is gd news for an FM transmitter or not!

Anyway - other option is to buy a new stereo with perhaps a front USB port or trying to pull wires from behind the stereo and feed them to a cunning point in the car that i can reach from the drivers seat?? Anyone tried this?

Cheers

If you go for a new head unit, Pioneer do a great ipod adapter for Pioneer head units which allows you to put the connector in the glovebox (or on the tray in the Exige) and control the ipod menus through the head unit. Works very well, and charges the ipod. The adapter is £70.

If you have the Blaupunkt DAB stereo you can buy a lead from http://www.bluespot.co.uk that plugs straight in as the AUX input, I think mine was about £6.

I read they were going to be £150 - at that price I`ll definately be having one, as the Alpine CD player I have in the exige is so old skool it doesnt even play mp3 cds.

I think you have a very good chance of an FM transmitter working in an exige

As to whether you can actually pick anything up from it with the exige stereo well thats a whole new question
