Well looks like the story is out. Club Lotus have been in talks with Sutart Gray to be involed with this years speedfair. Over the last 3 years we have had a Jim Clark meet held down at Duns in May, Lotus owners have been comming from all over to attend it. The format has been to meet up in Duns on the Saturday visit the Jim Clark room , blast round the country side which includes some of the old tracks raced by Jim, dinner in hotel with an after dinner speaker. Sunday tech meetings in the morning then onto a small meseum not open to the public in the afternoon.
This year is the 40 anniversary of the death of Jim Clark so something more is being set up. We expect to have more comming from far and wide this year for Saturday and have booked Paxton House for dinner . Sunday off to Knockhill. More info when we all get it sorted. i am going over to Knockhill on Tuesday to meet with Stuart so will report back .

Sorry, not the only one.

Lisa has run UJI around KH for a few laps and did a good job too.

OK so not her own car, but good enough for me!

Rock on Mandy all the same.

Oh and I am very interested to take part, certainly at KH and maybe also on this Duns thing whatever that amounts to. And I have a kilt. And a Lotus.

As I will need more detailed information on those attending, I think the best method is a Database on Yahoo Groups similar to the tuttowers one.

Most of you are Group members anyway, but for those that are not or the newbies, go to http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/tuttowers/database and request membership which I will then approve.

It is now set up and named "Classic Speedfair".

Tut,
Will there be a specific display area for our cars?
I might investigate bringing up the Manifold Marquee.
Could be used as a base for SE Peeps?

Scott

I will check with Stuart as to how he wants to organise it. As far as I know Lotus will be the only Marque there that is post 1982, and that will be mostly made up of the Elise/Caterham family dating from 1996.

I would think therefore that the classic Lotti would be grouped together as would we, hopefully a joint decision between KH, the Lotus Clubs, and ourselves.

The Manifold Marquee sounds an excellent idea especially if it was raining, again I will put it to Stuart to get his views. If I remember correctly, is it not in Lotus colours?

Stuart has just sent me three DVD movies of last years event.

Not had chance to watch them yet, but in the first few minutes of one, there are six Ferrari F40's doing a parade lap, with Stirling Moss bringing up the rear in a Vanwall.

Class...................

ps Hi Matthew

Long time no see. Stuart also sent me a program and I saw your name driving the Porsche in the Classic S&S race.

See you there.
