you are correct VVC heads need special and expensive cams

So Piper will sell you VVC versions of any grind, just take a little more green for them :thumbsup

Indeed, but at the very least you'll need to get a VVC blanking kit from them too. There's a few diferences between the VVC and standard castings too, not least the larger valve sizes, but in the actual port shape in the head that makes it flow better. IIRC the VVC casting is the same as the VHPD, but with larger cam journal sizes for the VVC gubbins. :thumbsup

ps. I have a non vvc janspeed ported head here if you'd like a look? Only the inlet side has been worked on, but it would give you a good idea of the shaping work.

I'll see what I can do Rich :D Dont have a macro lens for the camera, but I'll try and borrow one. Also been studying how to take silicon port moulds too :thumbsup

I have access to the stuff dentists use to take mould of your gob, we use it to take mould of difficult to measure features i.e internal grooves in deep bores. would be ideal for that sort of thing. and it's minty fresh and pink
