No Brake Lights!

Post by DDtB » Sat Apr 19, 2008 7:54 pm

So it seems that my brake lights decided to stop working halfway through the run today.

Not a fuse, not the bulbs..... Tut & Craig suggested it was the switch....

Someone want to point me in the right direction to fix it!??!

Also, after pulling the fuses out to check them and then put them back in, the cigarette lighter no longer works either....

Cheers,

Dave.

Acces to the switch is under the front access panel. Reach underneath the screen back from the brake fluid reservoir.

To remove the switch you have to rotate it through 90 degrees and then pull.

It is a ford part and they are about 6 quid.

Cheers Dan... found the switch!

Although it does appear to work when operated by my thumb.... :?

further investigation is required methinks.

same thing happened to mine Dave.

try putting it back in again - only this time push it as far as it goes and twist it to lock it in place.
hopefully your lights should be on permanent now....
twist it back the way to unlock it and pull it out a mm or two - then lock...

keep doign this until the brake lights just go out, then try the pedals.
