Elise up North

Post by delands » Sat Apr 19, 2008 10:10 pm

After dropping of mugs in Aberdeen, I decided to go down the coast road to get some photos. Err, Stonehaven was out due to previous weeks excellent shots... so next little village down... I took these.

Please feel free to comment and advise what I could have done better as it's a new camera to me (Olympus E-20p Camedia)

Well, I couldnt do anything about the sun, but i guess it should have been behind me... and a question... how do you get, on a bright day, the effect of water running like silk, kinda blurred effect but keep all else around sharp? I put the shutter speed to the slowest but I got an over exposed white mess of a car which you couldnt really see due to the brightness.

Get a tripod or summat solid to put the camera on
Set the camera to aperture priority
Set the aperture to summat like F22
Set the ISO to as low as it will go (100 or 50)
Set self timer
Put camera on solid thing (see above)
Press button
Wait on Self Timer
See what it looks like

If the water isnt blurred enough it's too bright OR you need some neutral density filters . . .
