The dangers of alcohol Nizzy - I was too pished to realise how funny it was at the time  To be fair, Nizzy's dancing was not the worst thing by far.... Still haven't got my mate on the phone yet.

I think the idea of an SE championship is a good idea, but I don't think it will be workable. As we are talking about MSA licensed venues, any competitive event (which they can define as any event where times are published) would have to be run to certain MSA rules and regs (the clubs will not risk upsetting the MSA in this type of case; been there before)... which in short means it'd be a full on sprint at full on sprint prices - about 4 or 5 runs for about £65 (IIRC). It also means finding enough free weekends that Stan the timing man is available, and may even mean SE would have to become an MSA affiliated club; a level of professionalism we certainly aren't set-up for at the moment. Sorry John.

Anyway, EACC are basically welcoming us back as often as we like, so I'm trying to arrange at least the next date for SE, May or June some time. We can have the track for longer than we did on Saturday for the same money, though that will be into the evening as the start was early enough. I'm currently considering two formats; two 4-5 hour sessions limited to around 14 cars, or one session of around 18 cars for at least 8 hours, first come first served with a reserve list that will be first choice for the event after that. At the moment I'm leaning towards the latter. Obviously prices for the day will be slightly higher, but I think we were unanimous on Sat that it would be more than worth the cut in numbers.

In the event I cannot get Stan to time us on a weekend were he, I, Kames and SE are free, I'm sure we could sort out a timing set up of our own, Heath Robinson stylee. Next event will probably be a Sunday, but I can't see that being an issue? dates being fixed as I type, we could even run the entire day anti-clockwise; the track as discussed defiantly seemed to flow better, and crucially was more fun :thumbsup

Anyway, Saturday there turned out really well, and most of us seem to have even got sunburnt, which defiantly didn't seem likely in the morning 8)

I should add, remember to check http://www.eastayrshirecc.co.uk/ for their Kames trackdays, and details of their other events, though the chat on the newly added forum may be a tad indecipherable to those outwith Cumnock city limits. The club are always looking for marshals and a helping hand at the track; which can earn track tickets worth one free track day/money off a competitive event each. The trophy rally is always a good day's motorsport.

The canteen were looking for feedback at the end of the day as they are new to covering Kames; everything I heard can be summed up as good food at much cheapness?

Yup i though the food was pretty good compared to the sh*te you normally get at KH and the like. :thumbsup

As you know, i'm well up for a repeat event, sooner the better 8) Think running the track both ways makes the day more interesting, plus it would be interesting to see if the "first" way was a better hit second tme around with a dry track ??
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

Just heard back from Colin at EACC and that's myself and heds signed up for the track night on Thu 5th June. Anyone joining us? 6.30 - 9pm, only 15 cars, and same 3 lap sessions that we did on Saturday.

Woody, I agree that your latter suggestion sounds best :thumbsup

Regarding the cafe/facilities . . . Thought the food was cheap and edible enough for what it was. I'd say equivalent to most burger type places like the one at KH, but a bit better than the KH one.

It is, but the old school escorts have the 22nd booked. The calender of events is fairly tight now (EACC days have been added today) so just had to take the 21st.

I think having it switch direction mid-way through the day was awesome longevity wise :thumbsup

I did prefer being able to rip past the ton in the afternoon and the layout of the track then, but i think the morning one was trickier, and to get the most out of the track required more focus, as some of the crucial quick bits seemed tighter and off camber in the morning. most noticeably round the back of the track, and down the hill.

Here's hoping for a bit more sun next time too :thumbsup

Yup - food was great for what it was. Only observation was I didn't see a menu of any description, but that might just have been me not paying attention...

You're right you defiantly paid. As did everyone who was on track. They did change membership sec about that time, I'm not sure if that may be the route of the problem. I handed over the money and all the remaining membership forms on the monday after the event to John Frew the club chairman. If there is any dounbt, I can vouch that all Se're on the 26th have paid, though you mayhave to fill in another membership form if it can't be forund.

Did everyone else who was on Kames on the 26th get their membership through ok? Please let me know if there have been any more issues.
