The other problem is the Atoms wouldn't have room to pass the Elises by the start of the 2nd lap..... :D Obviously not in my case as I'll be in the gravel (again).

I did think of you pair messing things up if we ran two at a time  The question was asked on saturday, and the answer was a straight no.

If two cars where paired equal eg atom -atom elise -elise exige -exige newbies -slow asses(me) it could maybe work with two on track just a thought

:thumbsup

The thought i had today was that if we were more strict on the number of laps you were allowed (ie an IN board) then it would make things quicker. I know i (and most everyone else) did at least a few sessions with more than their allocated laps. Say it's a min a lap, 30 people on the trackday then that soon adds up.

BTW im on the list too
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

OK.

1) All you have to do is count upto three. Even I can do that.

2) There is an average of 15 secs between cars if you run two.

3) Kames is an open circuit with good visibility. If the other car blocks the track and you can not stop in time, you should not be on the track.

4) If it requires more marshallers, then get out there and hold a flag.

While I dont disagree Tut, the club's Public liability Insurance does, thus Chairman and vice chairman have given a flat no to the question on two occasions now. They will not allow two cars on the track. Sprints and other competive events are covered by the MSA's insurance, which allows two cars to run on actual sprints etc... Remember, we are effectively running a fun day there, it is not considered to be competetive. The marshalls, ambulance and Stan's controling of when the cars leave are all required by a sprint anyway, and as I now know are quite incidental as to wether two cars can be on at once or not.

So that if someone is injured or worse on/at Kames, they can sue us.From what I gather/can remember from being on the committee anyway. Any business (EACC is a limited company) that comes into contact with the pulic needs PLI, IIRC. Those on here more involved with running a business day to day will be able to give a better answer i'd think.

But if there is one on track and THEIR driving causes the crash or car failure does....then how is it Kames fault?????
ie the tyres can't jump out at them???
I don't understand civil law!

Wasn't arguing for leaving out..........just curious!

Policeman in not understanding law shocker

I don't know all the answers, by I do know EACC have a duty of care to theose on their premises, and PLI forms part of that. Say someone had left a drain cover open, and a spectating member of the public didn't notice, fell down it and injured themselves (yes, it's sore), then it'd come into effect. As regards the track, I'd assume the duty of care goes as far as to ensure an event is run properly, and part of that is that a safe number of cars are on track at any given time - with the insurance determining what constitutes safe. Aparently they don't want them called track days anymore either, as this implies alevel of competition. Test days or practice days hencefore.

I appreciate I'm a bit sketchy with the details, but it's a few years since i've been involved with running the club.

The public liability insurance is basically there to cover their backs incase anyone chose to sue them after an accident. As driving instructors we have to have it for the same reason as there was apparently an incident where a women sued her instructor for not specifically teaching her not to stop in the fast lane of a motorway when breaking down, it sounds ridiculous but apparently she did stop there and funnily enough someone ran into her and the instructor ended up losing his house to make the pay out as he didnt have PLI. So I'm guessing if the tracks PLI states it will only cover them for one car on track at a time then they wont be able to budge on that. Some people are unfortunately willing to sue for any possible reason even if its their own stupidity that causes the accident and as a business you just can't take that chance.
