Wiper Blade.

Post by 2F45T4U » Sat Jan 19, 2008 6:27 pm

i need a new wiper blade for my S1 (2000) elise. Autosave didnt have anything in the book and nothing we compared looked like it would meet the contours of the screen properly.

seeing as im not really interested in paying nearly £30 for a blade from Eliseparts does any one know of an equivelant blade i can fit or maybe even a complete arm from another car if it makes it easier. mine is the screw on type (as apposed to the clip-in)

thanks!

I have just got the s2 wiper arm for my s1 and looking for a new wiper. As far as am i am aware you need to use the Lotus one for the s1 with the arm you have. I could be wrong though.

S2 arm and wiper was cheaper than an S1 wiper.

They got somethings right on the S2 then...

I've just ordered one of these
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :IT&ih=013
and about to phone MMC for an S2 wiper arm, as the Wiper on my S1 is knackered.

The blade in the link looks the same as the autobulbs one, but guessing it might not be quite as good, but bound to better than the smear blade I have ATM!

Just phoned MMC, and they want £30 and a few pence for the arm, and don't have one in stock, just been on google and got one ordered from Bell & Colville for £22 delivered.

Bought a couple of other bits too (as you do) nothing exciting, but touch up paint and keyring are always handy ;)

I recently swapped my S1 wiper arm to an S2 one, and then fitted the wiper from a Volvo truck (£7 from partco) - i found the details on Seloc.
The truck wiper blade is absolutely brilliant! - and FAR FAR FAR better than any others i've tried before.

p.m. me if you want the details, i've still got the packet in the garage. 8)

A regular blade (of right length - 21" I think?) from any car accessory place can be made to fit the S1.

Just file off the additional rivet collars that make it a bit fat to fit into the carrier thingy, and drill out the rivet that forms the pivot for clamping to a normal car's wiper arm, and job's a carrot. All instructions from Tut about 8 years ago ;-)

Though I really must get round to fitting an S2 arm all the same!

I really should fit an S2 arm to our S2.

As it's an early one it left the factory with a S1 arm.
