A brief synopsis for you.
A well known and respected forum member attends a run arranged online. He gets it wrong and wipes out a biker. From then on things go very badly for him and every word he has ever written online is scrutinised and eventually used to ensure he is given a lengthy prison sentence.
Scoff if you want, it can happen.....

I agree, boasting about doing those speeds on a public road is not something to be proud of IMO!Matelotman wrote:Doesn't matter what Tut-MPH conversion factor you use - that kind of speed is ripping the p1ss and is a statistic waiting to happen and posting it on a public forum is asking to be banged up.

Keep it for the track where those speeds are best suited!

Hiya
I am all for you guys enjoying your cars and making the most of them, but it's just irresponsible on single roads with cycle lanes. I got knocked off my bike on Thursday because someone was too impatient to give me space at a roundabout, and they were doing 5 MPH. People jumped out their cars to pick me up and help me, and I was fine, but if someone smacked me at those speeds, I wouldn't be here to tell my tale.
Doing they speeds on roads with cycle lanes is just not cool. I know it's not just you though, and half me goes out to you for the grief you are getting, but we all need to be more considerate when we get behind our wheels.
My 2p's worth.
Cheers,
Pauline

Jamie,
I think it's easy to lose track of the risks when piling on the tuts (exciting though it no doubt is). If you really want to be doing high speed stuff, stick to the motorways where the risks are a little easier to quantify; on a B-road it's madness. You really should bring the car to the race track where you can push your car to its limits and discover where yours are in relative safety and most importantly where those people around you are aware of the risks.
Cheers,
Robin

Oh and there's this great B-road in Germany, one-way, called the something-Ring I thinkrobin wrote:Jamie,

As it happens, it still has the core rules of a public road but is "derestricted" most of the way round and if you take care to only pass on the left, you are unlikely to get into trouble (with the law...how one pilot's one's car around there is another story!)
Recommend you get over there, it is a BLAST. And in the right company, a fantastic learning experience for any driver.

Jamie - glad you took my advice and started another shocker thread, took the attention off the Holly one

I see all points made tbh - and it would also suprise me if one comment alone without video etc could do damage.... But at the same time I'd be suprised if I saw a naked cyclist with no arms zooming past me on the road. Doesn't mean It can't happen, so why risk it?
Now STOP the funny posts, I must have ruined several keyboards due to spilt drinks etc...

Re: eaglesham moors road ?
Don't know the road in question, but 130+ takes a fair stretch of road in an S2 Exige. Of course I'm talking about mph rather than tuts
As others have said, get yourself on a trackday, would be a shame to see such a nice car end up in an accident. Various people on here have had incidents involving the local wildlife, at that sort of speed you'll be lucky to escape in one piece let alone the car.
At that speed you'll need the blue Pagids to stop you in time

Jealous ?![]()
Okay , Okay I'll remove it , Paracentral around here I tell ye .....and for the record , Ok I exaggerated but was over 135....Rabbits? in that field...?
Find yourself a Vmax.... under three figures and stick below it... find roads you can enjoy without going daft...
My Road Angel is set to flash red at 80mph... it keeps me focused and lets me know if I've overstepped the law and reminds me to back off. Now I am not saying I am a saint, I have the odd excursion here and there and also the odd "reminder" when you come over a crest below your Vmax and find something that you may not have avoided if you were going as quick as you could....
Stay safe out there.. and as everyone else will say, Keep it for the track..
Ive lost too many friends through bad driving and excessive speed.. Last camping trip I did there were four of us in the tent, two of us left now, the other two killed by excessive speed .
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....
