So it's injector pulse and spark.
Is the main connector (would be under the plenium if you had one) been connected properly? It's a huge multi-plug and with a "slide lock" for want of a better term.
It's the connector from the main loom to the ignition and injectors.
worth a look at, perhaps disconnecting and reconnecting?????

Yup - done the disconnect/reconnect process a couple of times... You talking about the big plug to the black box (which I believe is a series of relays)
Might try some switch cleaner or something though - that's a bit where the original loom and the new VVC one are meeting up....
Something else to try anyway

Isn't there a big multi function relay doing all the heavy duty switching for the ECU?
Another option?
How much fuel did you loose on the garage floor when you disconnected the pressurised fuel line?

Yup - that relay is, I believe, what's attached to that plug Mac referred to.RICHARDHUMBLE wrote:Isn't there a big multi function relay doing all the heavy duty switching for the ECU?

As for fuel - I had a nice cloth round the line - nothing spilled

Nope - Not talking about the connection to the MFRU.
This is a loom to loom connector, sits just below where the plenium would sit on a single throttle car.
I'll have a snoop though your pictures see if I can identify it.

I am getting positive to the injectors and coild though - stuck a tester on them. It's just not earthing to fire (which points at ECU or relays)mac wrote:Nope - Not talking about the connection to the MFRU.

Can't find any photo's but.
Does you car have a plug which is retained in place by a little plate attached to the head next to the camshaft (pre cat lamda) if so you can follow this back and it should join the loom next to the big plug I'm talking about.
You could also follow it pack from either the coil packs or the injectors themselves.
It's a large rectangle, has a lug on the top which is twisted into a bracket retainer, which in my car is attached to the TB bolts.
I know what I'm mean - just finding it hard to describe properly.
Mac
PS: would offer to come down to assist but have to remove and refit 6 balljoints on 3 different cars before Saturday morning, and also give Mandy's car a quick once over on the backend, fit towing eyes and a reverse switch to her car. I've also to check the gearbox oil level on mine, fit the new throttle linkage and a little something which I'm expecting shortly.
But I'll on on the phone in the garage if I can help remotely or should that remotely help

I think I know what you're talking about from memory... Bear in mind that nothing is attached to anything on my loom yet - it's artistically draped across the engine while we work on it
I'll double check it tonight though.
