Sarah and I had a fantastic weekend, a big thanks to Tut and everyone else who made it happen. Great time on track on both Friday and Sunday and great banter in the paddock.

We are both now sporting the SE look for the summer, burnt faces with white patches around the eyes.

thanks again

I have to echo the previous comments, BIG thanks to Tut and all for organising this, and to Andy for his hospitality on Friday night.

For my first time on track in the Elise, I had great fun on Friday, and if I'd managed to check the forum I would have realised my name was down for the session yesterday morning

Was good to get chatting to a few more folk over the weekend, my wife's comment on Friday on the way home was " They're all really nice and not as weird as the Mini people" which I guess is a compliment to you all :)

Off to find the next track session I can get booked on ;)

What a weekend! Great chat at the BBQ on Friday night, mad rush to get the car fixed up properly on Saturday then a great day on Sunday. We had to leave early, thanks to a dinner arrangement, so we missed the parade on track at the end. Annoyed about that, but we had great fun, watched some superb racing and had great craic.

Top weekend.

Oh, and we're both beetroot as well :thumbsup

Erica said more or less exactly the same. I think it was something like "Lotus people are nicer than Mini people, there is a lot less car snobery"

Only issue now is that she wants to sell the mx5 and buy a cheap Lotus...!

Tut,
Thanks for organising the weekend, and also the great weather, another favour you have pulled in from higher powers!

Both track sessions were brilliant, great to see so many Loti together. Great not to have any red flags for a change, except for the one on Sunday caused by some plonker not having his belt on. At least we only lost 5 minutes, but a bit annoying when time was so short!!

Cheers

Uncanny...not the first time such a remark has been uttered! Very pleased to hear it :-)

Reading about all the burnt people reminded me...P20 is your friend:

http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/body-care/riema ... r/reviews/

Apply in the morning before you head out, dries completely, no sticky mess, lasts all day and is waterproof, allegedly. Been using it since going to the USA a few years back, originally only available from duty free but now in Supermarkets, Boots etc I believe.

Particularly useful to give the kids a sunscreen base.

If I had a comparison picture of me and nxy, you would see the difference between "P20'd" and "Not P20'd", believe me

Got home late last night, and still feeling a bit knackered this morning. Did more walking over the weekend than in a year, but damned if I was going to go around KH on crutches.

Just had a browse through all the posts, and will talk more later, but I realy appreciate all the thanks from you and your enjoyment of the weekend, thats what makes it all worth while. As I was speaking to all the organising staff and chief Marshallers and Stewards etc, I had a lot of feedback, and apart from the red flag seatbelt incident, it was all very positive, they thought that we put on a great display, and should start our own race series!!!!!!!

They told me that it was the first time ever at KH that all five lines in the holding area had been completely filled for our track session.

Must admit that if I had not run tuttowers and track days before, it could have turned out badly, as the first instructions of the day that I received were go Lotus's go to the holding area, everything else I had to chase up myself.

This was of course, apart from my splendid helpers, without whom I could not have managed Sunday morning. They were led by Campbell, Dezzy and Dave, and no matter how much planning you do, it never works out completely smoothly, like finding out on the day that you have to go through a complete form signing session instead of just a signature as I was told. There is no way that I could have handled the parking and signing on as well, but give Campbell and Dezzy day glow jackets, and they make Edinburghs Parking Wardens look like amateurs, and Dave found new talents with forms and multi coloured wrist bands, despite the wind.

I even had the bonus of the afternoon track session with Club Lotus, none of whom had a briefing, so I ended up organising that. As a result I tried to put some of our cars on, but Scotty and Paul had gone home, and the rest were spectating and not in the show area, so it was just Robbie that came out.

I took up the rear on the parade lap, and it was quite a sight looking from half way along the Railway Straight right along the line upto the track exit. KH and Lotus would have counted the total number, but in our show area we had a max of 95-100 when everybody was there.

So thanks to everybody who came along to make it a very special Lotus, and even more so Scottish Elise weekend. I am biased, but we have a great bunch of people in the Group.

Cheers

tut

ps for those that do not know, June 6th-8th are the normal dates for the tuttowers weekends the years that we have run them, but at some stage the luck is bound to run out with the weather......

I am not going to start a witch hunt over the seat belt incident, I would need to hear both sides of the story. I spoke to the chief MSA Steward as it was he who saw an Elise driver take his seat belt off as we left the holding area, and went through the pit lane. He had also been told to but it on before.

However we went on track before he could be stopped, Ian Forrest did not know which car it was, so had to bring the whole lot of us in to check. However he was seen to put it back on as he came up the track exit, so must have been well aware of his actions.

As he was allowed back out, I do not know who it was, but he was not on the original list of 35 for the track session. Fortunately KH did not make an issue out of it, but it could have been very embarrasing for us.

tut

ps The Elise that went off at MacIntyres after the red flag can take a wrist slap, that was not supposed to happen, and we only got away with it because you were able to drive back on.

well my car didn't make it in time for this, and after the amount of car fuel lunacy and chat Ali (mrsG) had put up with in the last few weeks, not too mention the BBQ clean up etc, decided to leave you guys to it, and get back in the process of brownie point hunting.

Would have liked to have been there, but just so much to do at the moment.

A big :thumbsup to Tut. He worked his arse of to make this happen and was even directing the Knockhill staff to the dinner at Duns on Saturday night, in amongst getting everything sorted for the Sunday. In fact he was working so hard (he stayed in Edinburgh with us) , he barely had a drink on saturday night, and merely had a couple, so he didn't feel like a "big woofer" at Dinner.

Don't think I can add more about the day that hasn't already been said, so to repeat a few other points; fantastic day, great weather, burnt napper and a huge thanks and appreciation to Tut for his hard work on Friday & Monday and all the unseen stuff during the months leading up to the weekend.

A wee personal memory for me is arriving in shorts and t-shirt. Was standing talking to Kayfur at 9.10am when the shout goes out for anyone else wanting to go on track. A few minutes minutes later I am long-sleeved, long-trousered, helmet on and somehow end up leading the warm up lap.

I am sure both are suitably embarrassed and may not want a flaming on here so hope you get at least a couple of PM's with either explanations or apologies Tut.
