seat runner modification?

Hi,

Having now sold a kit car to hopefully make way for an Elise, I was gutted to find out that my girlfriend, who would probably be using the car daily to go to work, is too wee to reach the pedals properly!

We would need about another inch to inch and a half of forward movement on the seat runners, but I need the seat almost fully back, so it's not just a case of moving the whole seat assembly forward.

Has anyone come across this problem before, or is anyone aware of a modification that can be done to increase the seat travel?

I have the same problem, in that my girlfriend cannot reach the pedals.

My solution was to do nothing about it as it means she cant drive it

I remember reading that you take the drivers seat out, then "reverse" the rails, this means that you get more forward travel than back (i.e. the seat wont go all the way back) but having not done it myself thats all I can tell you. I have taken seats out before and its a real simple mechanism, I am sure if you took it out you would see what was stopping it and maybe be able to work it out. I will have a search and see if I can find the thread.

Thanks. I had considered the "do nothing then she can't drive it" option, but I also want some of her money to help buy it..... so as you can see it's a delicate situation!
