My lad as of Thursday has been given the order of the boot :? from his firm, now that he's a newly qualified plumber. :thumbsup . This has been not the best news for him given his situation or us over the last few weeks given the present climate in the building game with payoffs everywhere :?: . However with a bit of wangling , today he was headhunted by a well established excellent plumbing firm from Edinburgher and after the holidays, he starts...

I'm chuffed to bits :D and very proud of him :thumbsup , his attitude has been fantastic given extra pressures he is going through at this moment.....

Onwards and upwards....... :thumbsup
Great news :thumbsup

Well done Neil junior :thumbsup :cheers

Well chuffed for him.. must be a bit of a weight of your mind that lot.

Been getting some more info back re-Tupe... so now know how much money is comming my way... pretty much all of it is earmarked for the mortgate but with the account only letting me pay of £10k per year off my mortgage without penalties it will have to sit in an investment somewhere for a bit...

Did some calculations.... for the Laguna...

Anual milage 12k
32mpg (Diesel.... sh*t milage spec)
average price £1.28/litre
approx £2000 per year on fuel and only going to get higher...

Change to diesel car with 55mpg...
approx £900 per year on fuel...

Renault starting to make some strange noises....
Bought for £6k... now worth about £3.5k after a year..
£3k/year loss

Lesley spotted my old Audi driving about Glenrothes a few days ago... want another one...

Buggrit...

Hunting for an Audi A3 2.0 TDI Dsg 3 door about £12k 50ish mpg and much better build quality than that French sh*t.

Same depreciation, more reliable, less running costs, better car... run it for 5-6 years like my last Audi.. almost convincing myself here...

Got rid of the Audi when it was knackered.... it has sat on the dealer forecourt for 9months with the price getting lower and lower every month until about two weeks ago...

The Renault just doesnt do it for me... comfy but compromised...

The only reason we needed a car that big was for the two dogs.. now we dont need such a large car... it would be nice to have one that fits in the garage..
