well the drugs one is easy as campbell spotted - although to the gorbals add in the fact i dropped jon off at his tonight

the other one might sound strange but shell and i bought big plastic boxes in ikea at the weekend and they have a pic of a kid in them with a big cross across it.......like that would be the first thing you'd think of doing with you new box when you got it home. strange these scandinavians.

There is no point having a car which you cant use all of the time, its just daft.

Too wet, snow, ice. You should be able to drive it in any condition. Even if its a second car. When your modifying it you need to bear this in mind.

This depends on the car. It won't be very convenient to use XTR2 or similar in the snow or wet! Sure you can drive them in such conditions, but not much fun.....

Martin, sorry to disappoint but I shall be selling the car quite soon so I won't be tracking it anymore. However when I get a replacement (or on the CR) you are always welcome for pax laps.

Disagree completely! If its a 2nd car then it can be used for weekends, track, motorsport bla bla bla...... If you are bying a 2nd car it is not essential for it to be appropriate for all conditions. A lot of people have caterhams here, a lot wouldnt bother going out in the snow or ice with it......what would be the point its a 2ND CAR and so the 1st car is for getting from A-B. People modify there car to suit there use, people put track tyres which are cut slicks to give most grip on track, not best for ice or snow but better on track does this mean its something which shouldnt be done? I think you have completely missed the point of why some people purchase cars. Peoples wish lists may be different from person to person and because your own wish list might have appropraite to drive in all conditions, I can bet the vast majority of people venturing out to buy a 2ND CAR this would not be on the short list.

And you CAN drive a 2nd car in most conditions regardless of how much you mod it.............whether you wish to do so is another thing entriely.

Oh and while I'm on the subject I'm a fully paid up member of the silly car and spaz chariot for the price of a hot hatch club.

IMHO if you want a car to work well in every situation you end up with a car that is jack of all trades but master of none. So it's "kinda" fun on a B road in the summer, and "fairly good" on the motorway etc etc etc

If I bought my car on being good in all conditions I would have a diesel golf. Good big realible cars.

If everyone had the same wants in a car there wouldnt be a car market. We would just all buy the same car if we seen it as A-B.

People buy there car for their wants, needs, preferences. If your settling out for a 2nd car I would bet nearly 99.9999% of the time the car will not be bought on the basis that it can be used daily and very reliable and bla bla bla.


Different modifications will effect how the car drives in difference conditions. I mean not being too clued up but my experience is if a cars set up for proper track use it isnt exactly a good all rounder to pop about in snow ice and rain. People buy the cars for fun, excitement, enjoyment, thrills, a hobby, passtime not so they can be drove in all conditions.

Why would people drive cars up in trailers to knockhill? With there wet and dry tyres depending on the conditions? They have got the car for fun and want the most out of it I believe. The modifications do not take into account ooooo wait better not do that because if it snows I might not be great in the snow, no the enthausists do it because its better on track, car will handle better, give more fun, smiles exitement and thrills. I can see exactly why someone would buy a 2nd car and mod it not taking into account drivabilty in various weather conditions as they have a daily driver
