Thanks to Simon and Ian for the pax laps. Unfortunately my laps with Ian were cut short by the usual last 15min red flag :( . But what a great wee car. Nice to see it being pedalled so smoothly and quickly.

I did take a handful of pictures but they are awful - my heart just wasn't in it.

Thanks to Mass and Andy for the pax. The Atom I can't explain totally different in all respects. The acceleration is unbelievable, the brakes wow, just feel the harnesses hold you on. The rush of adjenerline was amense. Thanks so much for that, I like wee picture that was caught options - set as desktop. Pitty there wasnt better manners on track today I was a bit disappointed with some of the driving going on. Thanks for a great day though guys  :thumbsup

Not quite the same standard's as John's SIDC days :thumbsup

It was my first Hot Marques day for a while and i was pretty disappointed with the driving standards.....i have more power so i have a faster car boys where out in force.......oh wait corner......sssssllllllooooowwwww  Just a different version of a Hot Hatch day IMO! I even had to pay twice as they said that they had not received a on line payment from me and the reference number was definitely not one of Knockhills........20 minutes later in the office they found the payment and then tried to refund me my £75 rather than the £80 i just had to pay :damnfunny To top it off the 4 or 5 red flags did not really help!

On to a more positive note, big thanks to Mass great fun looked like you where really enjoying yourself, do you stop lapping BTW? And cheers to Kevin, my first experience of a Catherham on track, me want :thumbsup

Now my car, ahhhh, well okay i killed the front brake pads in the last half hour so it was limp mode home for me  Up to that point i was having great fun, car felt like it was going well in the twistys considering it is on road tyres :D

Cheers Mike :thumbsup

Ps, did anyone happen to pick up my tyre inflator from under the seats just out side the helmet shed?

Didn't think driving all that bad although there were a couple of graduates from the Hot Hatch Days perhaps. Seemed quite busy though and the queues took a bit of clearing. More than once I did a drive through the pit lane to find some space, only to be let out at the back of the same line of cars. All said, good day was had, nice drive down over Cairn O Mount with Gareth in the Green Reaper and good to put some more faces to names.
Nitrons are an improvement - has definitely increased the car vs driver talent ratio. Video evidence suggest a slight improvement in pace, car capable of a lot more. Rumbly brakes stopped rumbling by the time I got home (pad deposits will have cleared off disc) but will have to clean the vent holes again. No stopping problems though, and I think it may be my over-cautious braking at the top of Duffus causing this, better when you are on the brakes hard at the threshold of ABS. When these discs have been eaten (quite soon at this rate) maybe go back to RS4.2 or try DS2500 pads.

I thought the driving wasn't too bad either.
My complaint was always Bruce Taxis but they were well behaved.
Best part was the run over the cairn and back again. I'm so off Knockhill/trackdays so taking some time out from them. Road run far more enjoyable.
George, did you leave early? I had a run home on my own.

Gareth, I guess we missed each other. I was around until 5:40, parked up in the paddock after final red flag, then had a coffee with some of the SE contingent in the cafe at the entrance. I too had another decent solo run over the Cairn on the way home. No more KH this month, Oulton in 10 days. I'm booked on the next Track Scotland evening 19th August - these have been pretty good so far with very mixed batch of cars. Will visit the Defendall man in Perth same afternoon to finally get that Alford cone removed too.

Good day even if i was felling a bit rough from the night before . Thanks to Andy for the pax that car is just insane god only knows what the sc version is like. Also thanks to Mass always a pleasure to see you, i enjoyed the big slides out of my favorite corner (you know what one  ) . Nice to meet some new faces as always. Did think the £5 for pax was a bit naff it's not costing them anything IMO. Would rather of put it to charity than KH pocket.

Yeah I agree they get enough from each car, aparantly charging some people and not others. If they want to charge for pax I do not mind the £5 just where it goes. Definately I think each track day should have a charity box where the pax pop £5 in. Makes more sense than to boost KH funds as they have already been paid for the car on track cant see how a pax would increase their costs?

A good day all in all, but apologies for forgetting the Archos stuff! I'd been in London all week, and got my tyres fitted 5 mins before i set off to KH - a touch last minute, but big :thumbsup to Ali (SLS).

Driving standards were dodgy in stages. Some piss poor antics TBH, and a good few people that could do with going racing, rather than trying to race round the trackday and endangering other folks (not sure if its a lack of balls or worried they wont be on the pace if they do race). Nearly had contact twice, most worringly between an Evo and the pitwall at 125+. Still hit the brakes and he missed! First time i've thought about the safety of my passengers significantly at KH though (in regards to them being at risk from other cars hitting me), as some of the driving was not filling me with confidence.

The guys in the NSX was sh*t. Didn't have a clue about the lines of the track, and shouldn't in all honesty have been out on that sort of session without some instruction/guidance. More bizarrely was the fact that he didn't seem to be learing from other peoples lines at all  Watched him from behind the M3 CSL while catching them up the straight, nearly clip it, then try and outbrake in to the top of duffus on the right, and then daisy it round the corners :!: :sheeplove Credit to the CSL driver for hitting the anchors and letting the muppet in to duffus first.

Good to see G maintaining SE tradition and getting not only a red flagged session but a black flag first :damnfunny I'll let him take up that story, but lets just say I was standing next to his car when a marshall pulled up in the KH truck and handed me his OIl filler cap

Had a great wee scrap with the SuperLeggera, which was more trying to stay with it, between the traffic, which eventually it just edged away. He was running slicks and it was awesome to see it driven in such fashion. Was really enjoying the chase, until the some other cars got in the way - still think it amused Scott :thumbsup

Caught a GT3RS which was going well and was just starting to have a laugh with that when a red flag popped out - again.

Pleased that Masses car escaped the Evo bonnet incident, could have been a lot worse, and i was very thankful it didn't happen to me - dont fancy that bouncing off my head!

Great to see everyone, and have a flat spot free Atom for a change.

Running M 48s on the front and MH rears. Rear is not quite as progressive as before, very minor diff in general though, and front tyres didn't lock much, if at all, and thankfully not in the usual Atom trademark cloud of smoke manner! Now to see how long this set last!

Seen it, drooled over it, bought the loafers  Even after coming round the hairpin and onto the straight the guy was being left for dead by S1 Elises. Surely the only talent required here is a heavy right foot ? Maybe he was nursing some car troubles.

I couldn't believe the battle scars on that Superleggera, fair play to the guy for using it hard rather than locking it away in a dehumidified garage :thumbsup

Cant think of a better way to spend an afternoon.

With the sun out for most of the time and driving standards at a reasonable level.
(As much as we joke about talent maskers......the Evos do take some beating for point and squirt driving.......but there must be another gizmo which prevents the driver from pulling over when 118bhp comes up his chuff!)

Highlights

Met a few new faces(Neil,Simon,Meatball) today and witnessed some tidy Loti/Atom/Caterham/Honda driving

The S2000 was easily the best drift round the hairpin :thumbsup

Andy and Mrs G (It must be love mate)
Anyone who can constantly pax KH in the furious rate that the Atom delivers without soiling themselves is made of stern stuff. Andy your pace was definitely greater (safe in the knowledge that for once.... you had new rubber and brake pads?)
Andy ...your offside brake light is not working......before Lothian's finest pull you over

BrianJ and Kayfur......Gentlemen racers who take a tidy line

Taking three laps to collect an pass an obstinate white Suburu who eventually spun off try to copy my slide round Clarks (Tripmeter showed 142miles of trackwork without much Pirelli drama and fab mmc brakes)

Want to do another track though......Anglesey/Oulton/Cadwell anyone?

Yeah I hoped you wiped the seat once I got back. Look left pitt wall look right white Evo coming closer closer closer sh*t brake Andy BRAKEEEE. I just didn't understand why he moved over and then kept the power down he just had to lift for a mear second let you by It was just after hairpin at begining of the straight. I guess I am only used to the SIDC and Lotus track manners. IMO your out there to have fun push your car a bit and all come back with car and yourself in one piece. If you want to race go do it elsewhere. Even fair enough if you blast it on the straight a little as its not endangering anyone but the Evo moved in to take his line after sitting side by side and you had to go heavy on brakes to miss it or I would have become acquainted with a nice wall. Sitting side by side right into the braking zone is just a big no no. Him being on the right means he is the one that should have eased then jumped into line. We are talking a fraction of a second and its not like you would hold him up at all once you where by. Also he was blue flaged and the red flag poped up I seen the twat going round the track again. Obviously didnt quite understand the safety briefing. Stupid twats like that that put me off tracking the car, just be my luck to be hit by someone like that.

Apart from that though wow, I did love sitting behind the Lambo not something you do quite everyday. Sit in an Atom and chase a Lambo round track was muchas fun  :thumbsup

I just leave them filled as it takes only 5 laps to fill up again! On the road, the filled disc shouldn't affect you (if anything, I recknon it helps the car stop better when the pads are cold).

I heard the Lambo does 55 seconds, apparently not a very nice guy though acconding to one SEer I know well.

Mike, look forward to be on the S2000 (if you haven't change the car by then  ) the next time :thumbsup. Sorry you had the brake problem.

All Pax were welcome as always.

My search for the Caterham continues!

I believe the lambo owner is a pharmacist.....in a local scheme style!
I was walking to get some coffee at the end and saw him putting his car away....there was obvious marks from the evo bonnet and asked him if it was only cosmetic? He replied "fcuking burst ma waater pipe tae......he's gettin pure killed!"
Ok....time to move on!
He did seem to know the evo driver too! (He also drove like a fud!).
Scott, the megan that went past was another of his pals.....big shock eh!

Mass did well to avoid the S/L that weaved to avoid the bodywork in that incident!
