First of all, apologies if this isn't the done thing, Just wanted to share my first trip in the Ford Freda (Mazda Bongo)! I swapped my Jag XKR for this erm...camper thingy...don't ask. The XKR was falling apart and had done 60k, this whilst the same age as the Jag, has only done 8,000 miles, and is much easier on the fuel, and gives us a lot of freedom come the weekend. 0 to 60 I am afraid to say, is a snorefest!
Anyhoo! We left early doors Saturday and headed up the A9 towards Aviemore. After having a scout around the village, and a bite to eat, we arrived at the campsite in Rothiemurchus. Lovely campsite with modern toilets / showers (operated by a swipe card system), and a good mix of motorhomes, caravans, lodges and tents. All the different types of setups are in their own little section. I really enjoyed our pitch, backing onto lovely tall trees, lots of wildlife about, and plenty of space between ourselves and the neighbours!
Here we are setup:

A few images from a mapped walk which goes through the campsite (6 mile walk, which can link with other similarly long walks):

About 3 mile from the campsite (give or take), Loch An Eileen. Lovely long walk around here too, with an old castle in the loch, and the chance of seeing an Osprey.

We had an absolutely fantastic time, and are loving the new found freedom this quirky campervan brings us!
