Oulton Today

Post by gdr » Wed Jul 30, 2008 9:40 pm

Just back at inlaws (Lake District) after very excellent day at Oulton. Started damp and extremely slippery - a few mishaps but nothing too serious (worst damage was an Elise backed into Armco at Lodge, rear clam looked a bit the worse for wear. Anyway, bearing in mind distance I had to travel to get home, I took it easy until things dried out and avoided any drama. When it did dry properly the grip was huge, probably as a result of rubber from the touring cars at the weekend.
Car worked well all day, new suspension top notch and no brake rumbles to speak of. Here is a photo, car still bearing a piece of Alford on bumper Image.
Can't recommend this place enough, I think I like it better than Cadwell.

its certainly a very flowing circuit, which i imagine would suit the yota engine/gearbox quite well.

One of my fave circuits aswell.

George, glad to hear you had a good time there.

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

(that's why I think Mike will do fine, that and his lack of imagination).
