Gutted - done a 'Scotty'

Post by jamie » Thu Jul 31, 2008 8:21 pm

Well today started off being a fantastic day - was down at Croft for a TD. We had sunshine in the morning then rain in the afternoon. Really enjoyed getting to know the car even more.
Then headed off at 3 to start heading back up to the Burgh as the rain was getting worse and I was concerned about the cars ability to clear standing water so headed back up cruising slowly after a great day of RL.
Disaster stikes!
I got to within 20 miles of Edinburgh going up the A1 around the 100s of roundabouts when disaster did strike.
Coming out of one of the roundabouts the car just went. I had actually had come out of the round about and was on the straight in 5th gear at low revs say 40mph and then the back just went. I then proceeded to spin half on the grass half on the road . I think the car was doing maybe 5-10mph on impact.

Really sorry to hear this mate, as you said the combo of rain and diesel and hot weather is not good.

Main thing is your fine 8)

Hope you get it sorted out soon :)

(that's why I think Mike will do fine, that and his lack of imagination).

Jamie,

Gutted for you - I think you have just recently got that car (SC Honda)?

Fingers crossed that that is not a write-off though.

Good luck,

Frank

Bugger, doesn't look too bad mate. Would be a shame to write off a car like that. :(

That's bad - and the car was going so well - maybe it's not a bad as you fear - aren't these posts designed to fall over and it may not have done too much damage?

Glad to hear you're OK.
