How much tread would you expect (on average) to use on a couple of hours at the track? (I'm selling the car soon & they have 4mm at the moment & don't want to have to put new tyres on before it goes!)

Thanks

How long is a piece of string? Not sure how hard the TT will be on tyres, or how hard you'll push it in the corners (taken it on track before?)

As Andy says, you can usually get a few TD's out of tyres in the Liz with that much tread, but the TT is twice the weight of an Elise and has sh*tloads of torque (not to mention power going through the fronts)

You will almost certainly be fine, but there is the chance that you could overheat them and wax them if you go OTT....

Brunty

Sorry, but its not looking good for me tomorrow night sir!

Car is still in MMC with no contact from them yet, and tyres only showed up this afternoon - at my office and not on rims yet!

All in all looking like i've no chance of making it :( :( :(

Just hoping at the moment they can sort it so its good for the rest of the summer - especially after the last track outing  :( :(

Hope you guys have a good night, and if i get the 111R back i'll take a run up if i get out of the office in daylight  :D

Not had the TT on track before. Only been on Knockhill with the bike a couple of times.

Neil, If you're curious as to how your motor matches up, I have a yardstick coming along to the mexitowers trackday for you. I'll happily bet you an ITG (hmm, where did that come from?!) that you won't beat it...

Neil,

Your within 5 seconds of the BTCC cars on the old track layout - might be closer to 10 on the new one!!!!!!

Mac

(10seconds is off the top of my head and I have on rational to back it up)
S2 Elise (cobalt blue with stripes) - toy spec
Caterham 7 - hillclimb spec
Yamaha Thundercat - 2 wheeled toy spec

nah, took that into consideration. old lap time was 62 seconds. touring cars last year were 55. so 7 seconds slower. new laptime is in the 58 bracket, so approx 4 sec quicker, 2 of which i reckon is the track, 2 the engine. so even if they do 53's this year, my 58 is only 5 seconds behind. and by the time i add slick tyres and a S/C who knows

Current BTCC cars round KH were doing about 54s laps in the dry, knock a few seconds off that with the new surface and I reckon Mac's probably about right.
