I was lapping a lot and having fun with Nick Adams at Donnie in March when he bought the 2-11 up from Hethel.

Nothing in it in the dry, I probably had the edge on the straights, but in the wet with my bald rears and his TC, it was a different story. Being Nick, he turned the TC off, which evened it up a bit, but I found it hard going trying to keep up.

Looking forward to a foursome with Andy, Scotty and Craig in the near future, as with his latest upgrades he is now pushing 300hp with his Exige S.

The 211, 340R and S1 share the same chassis .. the 40kg difference between 211 and 340R must be down to the beefier suspension and heavier engine/box on the 211. I'm sure the downforce will make up for that weight in the corners and the extra power will make up for that weight in the straights.

On atom vs 211, the atom surely has a much better PTW ratio than the 211 - 450 bhp/ton vs 340 bhp/ton including drivers and some fuel? Not to mention that the drag of all that downforce generating bodywork will sap power at higher speeds.

The 211 will corner quicker though as it will have more traction front and back ... the atom, without a spoiler, will be struggling to lug that heavy rear engine around the corners and so will be more tail happy :-)

At Dijon, the Atom should be quicker - what it loses in the balls-out last corner, it will gain back on the straight and under braking. Cornering on the rest of the circuit is probably going to be split between the two cars - the slower corners in the middle-to-end of the circuit will favour the atom, but the faster first/second/third corners will favour the 211 I would think...

They'll both be quicker than me pootling around trying to catch Neil, though :-)

Cheers,
Robin

agree with all your other thoughts, but not sure about this. Reason being, at KH on my pax lap , the atom managed to get to 120mph before braking for Duffus. Thats the same as my old S1, despite it having 20bhp more, and 250 kg less. So aerodynamically, the atom is very draggy, at least compared to an elise, i assume due to everything being exposed. I would have thought the packaging of the 211 would be better at high speeds, despite the extra downforce??

I'm sure it'll be fun watching to find out, albeit from a long way back with approx 190bhp per ton
