John,

I'll be at Forrestburn next Sunday - I know the car's sick but if you've got transport (and are onshore) take a spin past, absorb some of the atmosphere, chat to folk around the paddock. Because Forrestburn has a loop road the paddock is generally full unlike Doune when half of the paddock is at the top of the hill waiting for the batch to come down and you get to see most of the track from up on top of the hill.

It's normally very windy though - so wrap up :thumbsup

Doesn't look as if SHMBO will be letting me out on Sunday. Espescially as it means me taking the only car and leaving her stuck in the house.

Just found the dates for 2009.. looks like I am home for a fair few events in 2009.. 8 sprint events or 9 hillclimb rounds....

Think I will have a go at the sprints in 2009 and maybe the hilld for the year after..

MSA licence application posted,

John, you've so got that the wrong way round - hill first, actually Doune first. As a wise man once said - Doune first, then everything is easy :thumbsup

John

Ignore Mac, Doune is a barsteward until you have been up it many times, and then it is still a barsteward.

In an Elise start of with the Sprints, with Trackday experience, after a few laps you know which way the corners go. Not so with the Hillclimbs. A blind goat herder on a camel that has been doing it for twenty years will humble you.

Is now the time to mention Oulton Park and Anglesey in February?

here

Get some practice in on some proper circuits before standing around all day to do a handful of timed laps, of which (if you're lucky) 1 will be quick?

Cheers,
Robin
