***AMP3 Charity Trackday - Final Details***

Post by Shug » Wed Sep 24, 2008 1:06 pm

Okay guys,

Here's the plot for the TD on Friday. I'll lock this to make it clear, so any queries on the main thread please.

Please be at Knockhill for 2pm on Friday

The track is live from 3pm and we want to have a queue in the pitlane at this stage, primed as soon as the light turns green. So, don't leave it late, we have some stuff to go through in briefing and you'll not be popular if it's held up.

Please bring your full driving license (inc the paper bit) on the day and a long sleeve top if you're roofless. Helmets can be hired, there may be a cost, but there usually isn't at a privately booked day.

Sign on will be in Kinnairds (the restaurant by race control) and we'll also have some information about Marie Curie, so please come along and speak to the Marie Curie people and find out about what you're contributing to! Marie Curie's Nurse of the Year will be in attendance, so obviously we'll want to line her up to go in as many cars as we can. Raffle tickets for the prize draw can also be bought at this point.

We'll have a list of drivers who have contributed - the day is full, so if you rock up expecting to go on, we may not have a space unless we get several dropouts. Passengers can be signed on at this point too - if drivers have organised contributions from passengers themselves, please make that known to us on the desk - if the passenger has not contributed, we'd appreciate if they did :mrgreen:

The track will go live at 3pm and the session ends at 5pm.

It looks like it'll be dry (touch wood) so we've got no excuses for red flags - please bear in mind that there will be a significant amount of passengers out in cars that have paid for the privilege and if we flag the session, people will lose out. Similarly, can people please pay attention to their mirrors - if you see a faster car coming up (especially things like the Atom, 211 or 360) then let them by as soon as it's safe to do so, they will have people on board who will only be getting 3 laps, so they need to make the most of track time.

That said - we're all out to have fun! If we all pay attention and show the usual SE standard of respect, it'll go brilliantly.

Andy will post up the info about the post track party in Edinburgh soon.

AMP3 Charity Trackday BBQ – kick-off at 7.30pm

Sponsored by Martin Baird Butchers of Melrose, who have supplied all the burgers and sausages at a fraction of the usual price!

Well guys, as you know £10 per guest, but food, beer and wine, is covered in the cost, and knowing some of you that’s the best deal you’ll see in 2008! You are welcome to bring some additional supplies if you have a particular brand you favour, or worry that your drinking habits may put us out of booze early :wink: :cheers

In addition to the eating and drinking, we’ve a few more things to do this year;

The Sonos challenge – fed up with being asked where the latest state of the art in house sound system is, I’ve bought one in, and a challenge will be issued on the night – this will allow guests to access 6 million songs and create the SE playlist (I may well regret this!!)

Shugs Charity Raffle – at £1 per ticket, Shug’s raffle has some epic prizes. The man himself will be organising this, and hopes to sell tickets in batches of 5. With some prizes being worth up to £500, well worth a punt, so buy a strip or 10  With loads of prizes to win, and a pretty lady to draw and present your winnings, you know it makes sense!

The Gran Turismo Challenge – well after last years amusement with the PS3, this year I’ve gone a bit further. Using the Elise, and a nominated track, SE’ers will be competing in a one lap challenge, in an Elise (and sitting in an Elise seat). Entry to the comp will be £5, the winners prize is a set of Shure SE 530’s earphones worth £229. We will run this one till approximately 11pm, and my top tip is to get on before you get lashed :D (after 11pm this will still be on, but free, although times wont count towards the prize)

Andy’s Charity Auction – we have a few special prizes which we think merit a brief auction. I will be waiting till you’ve had time to drink my beers and wine, to make your bidding more generous!

The Viewing Room – hopefully time permitting, this will be set up to show trackday footage, the Atom vs the Ring Taxi, and some other FF7 action.

Now on to the logistics;

My house is located at ;

63 Craiglockart Road North
EH14 1BS

Phone - 0778 8163201

Parking – the driveway is allocated for Scotty’s 2-11 and Mass’s 360, so please keep clear of blocking it, till these cars are in safely. Any spare space will be for N3 TUT, which will most likely be beached again blocking the road otherwise :damnfunny

For the rest of you, I live in a safe street (well before you guys arrive anyway!) so you cars will be fine there.
Staying – for those of you crashing, best bet is to grab a Fat Boy bean bag and get comfy! (Tut I’ve assigned you a bed to keep you out of mischief!)

If you are staying or want to help set up you are more than welcome to come to my house straight from the trackday :cheers
