i know what you mean. i can change up at 6000rpm and be as quick up the straight as a standard ish S1, but i have nooo will power to do it, and it also means i'm in stupid high gears to keep the revs down through the bends.
I'd like to borrow a datalogger at Knockhill if anyone has one. just to do 5 laps and see what it says

That would be a good laugh! I think my chances of going astray and towards the kitty litter would go up 10 fold

ah yes, nobody would want to be proven wrong, and have to admit they couldnt do a certain speed. i reckon mines is upwards of 70mph at the first apex, but no idea how much upwards. i dont seem to be slow through there, so maybe its more than i think

Remember folks - timing is banned.

No idea what my apex speeds are, unless Ed or Neil happened to see my speedo during any pax laps?

Can you post up your datalog file? Is it like the files Rog and Steve post?
Esprit sounds like it going great, when am I getting some pax laps?
I wish - No - just a csv file Paul, sorry.
nah Esprit was going pants

- car ran lean and chargecooler failed so was a good wad of bhp and lbft down that day but car felt nice - nice steering, very little lag, brakes very good, suspension juts the good side of firm. Tyres a bad choice on my part - ran the wets and didn't bring the A008s.

Good point Shug - my software is for engine diganostics tho happens to show road speed..

most of the actual gps datalogger guys have very discreet black boxes that don't draw attention.
Easy way is of course to look back at footage and fixed cameras are ok.

Another one who don't have a scooby-doo - surely checking your speed mid-bend is affy dangerous?
This, of course wasn't the case when I was at EF on that long fast constant radius right-hander just before the hairpin

I don't know my entry speed either, but I can tell you that I overbrake for Duffas as I'm back on the power before the apex.
I would think mid 70's would be a good entry speed.

ahh.. not just been me then..
I couldn't tell you what the dials are saying most of the time.. tho most of us can roughly work out speed based on gears-revs...
I usually think about bends in terms of gears but I also need to start thinking about use of the brake, duration as I may be taking too little in at times. Guess you know when you've taken in too much..

Duffus is my "bogie bend" at KH, probably a sub-concious fear from days of yore witnessing various cars from full race to daft hot-hatches overcooking it & getting into bloody scary-looking tank-slappers (steady on now Shug

), sometimes ending in a roll in the kitty litter (outfield side) or spinning into the tyre wall (infield) at the bottom of the hill not far from the marshall's post (seen them leg it from there before

)
BUT - after the SIDC day (my 1st sample of the new surface) Duffus is far more consistent & therefore probably easier, so I'll gather more & more confidence with more use of it
I'll now fail to
not glance at the fecking speedo next time

which isn't the best coz it's just an LCD figure (stack dash)
