Yup, somebody logged in and changed your default password for you :damnfunny

If you're really locked out after rebooting it, factory reset is the only option.... Just remember to change the default password ASAP

Did you buy it off ebay ? Somone might have tried to install ddwrt (I have recently) and it can change the bootloader which knckers things up when it comes to resets of pwds.

forwarding these posts is frying my nut .

I Use emule , and my IP changes all the time ie: 192.168.1.101 so i need to change the ports I have forwarded each time ??

Does this sound correct ?

Jamie,

If you're using port forwarding, you need to do one of these things:

1. Use a static IP address on your computer, not DHCP. Do this if you've got a desktop pc, or a laptop and dont use any other networks.
2. Setup the DHCP service on the router to always assign your computer with the same IP address. Do this is you've got a laptop and you use other networks. You'll need to feed your router the MAC address of your computers network card. You can get this from running IPCONFIG from a cmd window.

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :

Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Marvell Yukon 88E8001/8003/8010 PCI Gigab
it Ethernet Controller

Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-1A-F7-3B-1A-22

DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No

Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes

IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 10.1.0.2(Preferred)

Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 10.1.0.5

DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 10.1.0.5

NetBIOS over Tcpip. . . . . . . . : Enabled

Feed the router the physical address bit :thumbsup

no idea what emule is but...

Is that the IP address of your PC that you are looking to forward stuff to? if so, can you not setup the router with a static IP address for each device that connects - there should be a list of connected MAC addresses at any given time, you can cross reference the list, get the MAC addy of the PC and give it the same IP all the time, e.g. 192.168.0.101. Thats what i have with everything on my LAN (xbox's, laptops, PCs etc). works a treat for port forwarding.

if your password is still the default you really do want to get that sorted, a factory reset (having first output a config backup etc, if you can) is the way forward!
