On the other hand it's 10 years old and they didn't cost much back then, so depreciation still isn't that bad at £5K

they cost as much as £25k (OK 9 years ago!) and whilst annual amortisation of approx £2k may not be bad by many cars' standards, visualising it as £20k is quite eye-watering for certain mere mortals
