Pucker worthy

Trundling into work today in the Merc in the hissing rain. Got towards a roundabout on the bypass and saw an effing big truck wheel sitting just on the central reservation.

Thinks I - "must have fallen off a double axle setup - would have been scary for the bloke behind"

I get over the roundabout and what's sitting on the other side?

Big effing quarry truck with one end of it's rear axle buried nicely in the tarmac! Police in attendance and looks like there were no injuries, but I certainly wouldn't like the job of cleaning out that cab!

When I had my 205 years ago, I was folloing a quarry truck at 60mph when it spat out half a house brick from btwn the twin wheels on the RHS. I thought my number was up as it bounced towards me as I slid towards it locked up, fortunatly it stopped bouncing just before the car and rolled underneith and smashed on the gearbox casing!

I had to have a lie down after that one!

No damage just very very lucky!

Don't follow quarry trucks! And if you have to check for bricks in the twin axles!

Sounds like a pattern. About a month back I watched as something the size and shape of a toilet seat frisbee'd off the roof of an artic a couple of cars in front and spun towards me.

I had nowhere to go but luckily it disappeared down in front of me rather than coming through the windscreen. I then got to feel it explode all over the underside before exiting in a cloud of chips. There was no damage so it must have missed the front clam by inches...
Could have been a block of ice - can't think why there would have been a toilet seat up there

Nevermind - with less police and more cameras, the condition of vehicles is bound to get better

Was driving down to Huddersfield last week end on the M62 in my civic type R - some little ned lobbed a brick off the fly over and missed the car by inches - big brown trouser moment !!! These wee barsteward need a good hiding !!!!

Its scary how many car / truck parts you'll see on the central reservation on hard shoulder when you are sitting in a traffic jam.

Years ago, when I was competing in the Brittish Autotest Championship, a team of about six of us, all towing competition cars on trailors, headed off downsouth. When we got to our digs in North Wales, we checked over the cars etc. Between us, we had lost; 2x cargo straps (me), 1x trailor ramp, 1x spare wheel off trailor & 1x fog light! Since then, I have always been super careful to make sure everything is tied down correctly.

We reckon that if you need a new trailor, and you know where to look, you can find all the necessary components on the hard shoulder
