I use my 135R as a daily driver. As Shug say, driving any Lotus is a full-on experience and that's precicely why I love this one so much. The stiffened sports suspension, super-sticky 48s and those big black Oz wheels... I can't find anything in the overall package that doesn't make it a sheer joy to get into every day. And there's a limited number of them which makes them a wee bit special.

Amendment - I use my 135R as a daily driver when Ron isn't using it himself.
Legend as he is, he came down and collected it from me in Oxford as I'm away until Feb - and got all the way back up to Abingdon on one tank of fuel. Ron - what's your impression so far?

Oxford->Abingdon is 6.8 miles for those of a Northerly persuasion
Cheers,
Robin
P.S. I use my 135R on the road a fair bit (I don't actually do a daily commute, so it doesn't get used that much) and I find it perfectly acceptable. It's good on track too

Er that's Abington Services, Biggar. 350 miles on 1 tank. A tad more than my standard S2.

350 on one tank with a close ratio gearbox really is a good effort. I don't think I've seen better than 300 with mine

Ron

Does that imply that the cruise map for the 135 ECU has been tweaked?
Is the 135 box any closer ratio than a regular K series non-VVC S2 though?

Not sure - but Ron drove through the night with no traffic at a steady 65-70 mph. He was also wearing lycra and his mum's swimming cap for reduced drag.

Need to keep saving for a bit if I want a 111s but I suppose I should go have a drive of a standard S2, just need to find one that isnt too far away!
