I'd love one of those Trans Ams, but i think it would look damned ugly in the driveway, not to mention the fuel economy. Was it 6.6 litre? Smokey and the Bandit this weekend me thinks!!

It was originally 6.6 litre; now bored out to 7.6! With a few trick motorsport / tuning tweeks, now up from the original (pathetic) 150BHP to 450BHP, with 500 torques! Still looks standard, but had all brakes and suspension fully upgraded too. Slightly tatty cosmetically, but well sorted mechanically (except for the LSD which was giving up by the end of the day). Was a very cool car, being driven very well!.. see the video.

Note the shear size of these cars; look at how it fills the parking space, compared to the cars next to it. Hope you have a long and wide drive way

The Exige, being my TOY, had to meet certain criteria, i.e fit in the garage. No way a Trans Am would get in there and i don't think i could have it parked in the driveway being the ugly great beast that it is. Don't think the neighbours would appreciate that. However, if i lived somewhere more secluded i would be tempted!

And to ScottyC, not sure about Shug, but there is something kinda cool about the car. I'd love to expand on that, but, errr, not sure how to!

It is some car - & 30 years old - the Brit offering then was Marinas and Allegros and Austin Maxis.
I would have killed for one in 1979 - now I don't think I would have the bottle.

Check the avatar dude... The car is horrendous by any reasonable measure. Doesn't stop it being the definition of cool though... 8)
