If Ed's going out with 2mm on 48's, you'll be sweet with 3mm on a harder tyre.

I will indeed be killing them, hence why im ordering new tyres and hoping that wheels around will be there to fit them! :wink:

I've e-mailed Wheels Around to see if they will be in attendance at MT - if they are then drive up and track the olds and then swap on to the new for the drive home :-)

Thread hijack NLC. Got quote for tyres from KwikFu*k. £100.60 for two fitted and balanced(inc. disposal). Conti. Eco. etc. That seems OK. Want to get wheels off back and onto front. They want £5.95 for each wheel for that(inc. check balance). Then tracking is £25 :shock:

Suspicious feeling I'm being bent over. :shock: Anyone know somewhere friendlier?

2 jacks or 1 jack and 1 axle stand and swap front to rear yourself..

Auto Image out Polwart way (Dundee Street perhaps?) fitted and balanced mine for £20 all in, and they know where to put the jack on a Liz :)

Last time I phoned those boys they said they wouldn't fit a tyre the hadn't supplied themselves :(

Don't agree with Shug on this one. The t1r's i believe are far worse till they are run in. I wouldn't buy again. I was gutted for the first 800-1k miles and nearly ditched them. I actually went as far as getting the car checked, and as you guys keep reminding me the S1 is lighter...so can't imagine you'd get it any better?????

What about the new Yoko that now comes as standard on the Elise? Thats what my next winter set will be :D

I agree, the T1-rs I put on my S1 felt extremely odd and vaguewooly (technical term there). It felt weird, driving along at 70 the front felt light and wandered about the road a lot. I am not sure if all tyres when new do this new, but I traded the car in before it got to 1k miles on the tyres so not sure if it improved any.

Yes for the Polo. Just sailed thru it's MOT(with advisory on the front tyres). Had it 2 years and done 18,000 miles and I've still not put tyres on it (and I drive it Hard - for a Polo :oops: ). Wanna get the rears on the front otherwise I'll never get through them.
